Beautiful, challenging and rewarding.
What a stunning course, really nice layout amazing fairways and greens. Just a warning the par 3's are the trickiest on the course. Absolutely card wreckers! Will definitely return here for a round.
Red hot day in Whitefield
On arrival Pro shop wasn’t open but got cards from the cafe part,
Practice areas are great, grand slick like the course, designated chipping area too.
Course was great, slow 4 ball in front of our group held up play but the club can’t be at blame there.
Refreshing pint in the shade afterwards
Great course, could do with a bit more sand in the bunkers but otherwise quite brilliant.
Wonderful Course
We played on a lovely summers afternoon with the temperatures in the 20s. Despite this, the course was in immaculate condition and the greens stunning. Some wonderful and challenging holes, particularly par 3s which were mainly 190 yards plus.
Only a par 68 from yellow tees, but stray offline and you get punished. Certainly worth a visit and the members were especially friendly and welcoming. A real gem of a course, one not to be missed.
Challenging but fair
Totally enjoyable round of golf - course in great condition - and the course was a much easier walk than a lot of the others in the area.
A little more expensive but worth it.
Good but not great
At £30 a green fee I thought this course was over-priced. The greens weren’t in great condition given the amount of time golf has been suspended. Course was exceptionally wet and soggy and as someone playing this course for the first time, there weren’t enough distance markers on approach. Very nice surroundings and layout, just over-priced given the choice of very good courses in the Bury area.
Gem in the right conditions
I can imagine this course when the weather is fine will be an absolute joy. We only had 15 holes available & all on temps but we knew what we were getting as the course website keeps you up to date.
The winter greens were some of the best I’ve played on & some of the holes were still long enough to be a challenge.
Have a look at the club website for the flyover with Peter Alyss commentary, it’ll make you chuckle
A cracking course. You wont be disapointed.
I have played Whitefield before but played again yesterday (31.07.20) and took a friend who hadnt played it before. The round was £28 each through golfnow which isnt ridiculous but a little pricey.
Really good practice area. Both chipping and putting greens and then onto the course.
Really good course condition all the way through. Well sign posted for people who havent played it before too. Greens again really well maintained.
The course itself is challenging with par 4s dominating the round. All in all lovely course and if i lived closer id definately consider joining.
Top Quality Winter Golf
Played Whitefield GC and must say for the time of year the course was in great condition. Not a long course but offers up a really good test, especially the par 3's which are stunning. Halfway house still open as well which was a bonus. Would definitely recommend this course to anyone and look forward to playing again in the summer for a completely different test.
A must play.
Excellent course and some of the best par 3s you'll ever play. A true must play, great course layout and a real fun and challenging round of golf. 100% recommend.
Whitefield
Course is well maintained especially for the time of the year .
Greens are quite dry and playable.
Staff are friendly and welcoming.
Great day all round !
1st time at Whitefield
I have just started to get into golf and this course was one of three in a week for me to see which club I would like to choose to continue playing at.
Upon arrival, I thought the club house and the overall layout looked great and very appealing. We found the course to be in very good condition (getting a birdie on the first 1st is always a great start) and very enjoyable to walk through. The Par 3’s are very hard Par 3’s but again very enjoyable.
Staff were very friendly, we spoke to the pro golfer (located at the shop) who passed by on his buggy to help the grounds men and he gave us some great tips on some of the holes and also which hole to play from whites to get the full enjoyment out of.
Overall, I was very impressed with my experience here and I am definitely considering becoming a member.
Excellent and challenging
Superbly set up and very challenging for the average golfer, all greens in great condition and tees and fairways, one of the best in this area.
Good course but difficult
Great condition apart from a couple of greens where it looked like somebody has mindlessly hacked the green. But I mentioned this to the green keepers and they immediately worked on it.
