Whitwood 9 holes

Lovely course, haven’t played for a while here and it is much better than that time, where it was still good. Fairways and greens immaculate, soil boxes at par 3 tees “nice touch”.

Good mornings golf

Very neat course well maintained . Staff and members friendly. Only downside one or two bunkers not raked, but that has nothing to do with the course, only bad etiquette by a minority of players.

18 whitwood holes

Presently suprised by the course modifications and new layout of the back 9 holes.
Greens were in good condition and fairways were fast due to the dry weather.
The only issue was the time it took to get round the second 9. The front 9 I was round in 80 minutes due to an early tee off, however the back 9 took nearly 3 hours due to a 4 starting their front 9 before us which affected everyone’s game by the end.

Ever improving Whitwood

Regular visitor to this little 9 hole gem.
Perfect for beginners and intermediate golfers.
16 tees provide sufficient variety on this 9 hoke layout.
Putting green and warm up nets.
Course probably at its best at the moment ..... greens excellent and consistent as always. Fairways and bunkers in good shape.
Well worth a visit.

9 hole gem

What a difference some rain makes.....
Grass growth has significantly improved over the last few weeks, making a much more enjoyable round.
Green keepers getting some definition back to fairways making placement more important.
Greens as always in great condition with consistent pace.
Bunkers well filled and well raked by staff and players.
16 different tees on a 9 hole course give good variety for high/medium handicappers.
A little gem for 10+ golfers.

Always worth a visit

The rain has done the course a world of good. Few brown patches on some greens but overall in good condition, albeit deceptively slow.

I'd always recommend others to play here. It's not expensive and a decent test.

Spring golf

Course is still recovering from recent wet weather with a number of tees still unavailable. However good mat replacements are in place although surrounds muddy. Fairways still a little slow. Greens just top dressed so speed should improve with drier weather. Bunkers all in play, well sanded and all with rakes. Putting green and nets available. Excellent value for money as always. Will only get better.

Winter Golf

Despite recent rain, the course was still in a very playable condition. Some areas were a little boggy but not worse than many other courses. The greens were true and consistent of pace.

Rough, or fairway, that is the question?

The greens were in good condition with a few being re-seeded in areas. Tee boxes were a little on the ong side and on many occasions I couldn't tell where the fairway ended and the rough began.
Some challenging holes and a couple that are easier to score on. Don't think I'd go back to play alone, but if a friend invited me I wouldn't say no.

Cheap and cheerful, friendly staff!

Getting better and better each year and good to see green keepers out there regular, keeping the course maintained daily and improving as much as possible which is clear to see after coming back year after year. Cheap, cheerful, friendly staff and a great little clubhouse with refreshments, pool and snooker table and a new patio area over looking the first tee box.
