Good course to come and play
We played at the end of January and the course was still heavy with rainwater in places. The greens were in good condition and are challenging at times.
The course is parkland and is spread out. It isn’t hilly but there are undulations to keep the golfers interest. A good use of water and some well placed bunkers.
My son and I enjoyed the round and so I am pleased to recommend the course to others
Worth a visit
Really pleased with our day out at Eokefiekd park. Played it a few times but for me it was in the best condition I've seen it. Normally very dry in summer. It's a long but well laid out course. Most holes have danger from large bunkers, water or trees. Pro shop staff very friendly which is a good start.
We will be back
Enjoyed the afternoon round
We played Wokefield on a Tues afternoon on a last minute booking. Enjoyed the round, managed to lose half a dozen balls in lakes, woodland and long grass! The bunkers are enormous on some holes so will be a little more conservative with shots next time. Greens in fairly good condition for October, most pitch marks had been repaired.
We will be back.
Good course, played in the summer. Pace of play was ok but was rather busy. Group in front walked in after 9 which freed up the two ball I was in to get round fine. Would come back to play again in the summer. Think the pace of play needs improving but overall great value for money at £19 per person green fee.
Great Day
Returning to Wokefield Park, I found the course to be in very good condition which added to the overall satisfaction of the day. Having played the course before, I was a little more aware of some of the hidden surprises, which lay ahead of me.. there are a couple of holes where are you are not faced with bunkers as such, but something that more resembles the beaches of Normandy. Another hole the wise golfer will play it as a dog leg to the right, but the clearing over the corner of a lake. Looks to be very inviting, and it’s only when you get round there, you realise the raids were in fact, hiding another part of the lake, where many a golf ball resides.
It’s a good walk round, but there are plenty of golf buggies if you so wish. A great day and one I hope to repeat soon..
Decent value
Enjoyed the course. Lots of bunkers! Some good holes. Greens were difficult to read at times! Good off the course. Would recommend.
Decent value
GoPro shop right at rear of hotel very hard to find
Very easy to get lost finding the 10th tee
All that said course in good nick meaning good value for money
Nice course shame about the pace of play.
We arrived a little before our tee time. This enabled us to make use of the practice area. This is a good facility and got us in good shape for the round ahead. The chap in the pro shop was welcoming and helpful. The course is in good shape and although the greens didn’t look great they played true with the ball rolling well. My only complaint would be the slow pace of play. There were a couple of four-balls ahead of us and despite having to wait and watch them tee off we were never asked if we would like to play through. We were a two-ball. It was a good day but the course won this time. Would play again as it is good value for money.
Slow play
Booked on through the app I am was stay at the hotel so booked in only to find a competition on in front of me no mention of this when I went into get my card very poor that should av a option to play back nine first ? Should get half my fee back
Great course but ..
Our first time playing on this course. A fantastic course BUT the slow speed of play really detracted from the round (5.5hrs), literally waited on every shot. Avoid playing entirely on the weekend a member told us; but also would recomend marshals speeding up play and a pick-up rule past 3 par shots etc.
Lovely scenic course.
Course was in good condition considering the weather a few weeks ago. Played here about 2 years ago and felt the course was tired and neglected. Whot a lovely surprise to find it in such good condition. Staff very friendly and I will be returning soon. 👍🏌️♀️
Slow slow slow
Booked for early afternoon on a Friday - long wait on first tee. Allowed another to join our group to try to optimise speed around the course .. 15min wait on every hole , left after 12 holes .. over 4 hours !
Good order in the bar went missing before we played and chased for 40 mins … eventually came as a take away as too late to have in the bar area.
Course was good - playing short off yellows due to dry ground but made to think on most holes.
Would play again but not on Friday afternoon.
Worth a visit
The layout of this course is really good. Undulating fairways, huge bunkers and really challenging lakes to avoid. Greens were pretty good although showing signs of dryness on some. Generally the greens were a little firm so holding the green was a challenge. It's a very long course but set in beautiful grounds so it's a lovely walk. When we played the course was virtually empty so very relaxing. Only issue was one of the green was on a temp green. This was not mentioned when we signed in so we hit 2 nd shots up hill to a green that was not in at. This was annoying and spoiled that hole.
We thought it was great value for money and will be back
Great value for money!
A lovely course with some great facilities. The value for money is the real winner.
My only criticism would be that the course was quite busy, though a hot sunny weekend and 18 holed for only £22 is probably the reason why!
Awful condition
It has rained a lot a few days before I played and the course was still boggy. They had clearly let people play on it and there were very muddy tracks everywhere.
Course isn’t well looked after any more. Tees are patchy and over used. Greens are patchy and mossy.
Overall it’s a nice place but if they continue on this path, it’ll be in run within the next year.
