Great course with wide ranging views and lengthy holes
Loved the layout of the course and the condition of the fairways (freshly cut) There were many long holes and some short ones with bags of character.. The course is well though out and for the money I think it's one of the best value 18 hole sessions in the area. The Greens were a little patchy in places and there weren't that many bunkers but there are water hazards and ditches to try and avoid. Playing close to the Scandinavian Chalets on the 18th was a bit nerve wracking.. There's plenty of gradient to play on too and the service was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.
Grass Needs Cutting
Having found a new course in a convenient position for the 3 golfers playing, I am always keen to find a "gem", unfortunately as much as the course could have been excellent value it was let down by a few "routine" golf course maintenance requirements.
1 - The 1st cut off the fairway was more like the "4th" cut, your ball would sink deep into the grass, ending up taking much longer to find your ball than it should, if you could find it at all.
2 - the greens needed rolling and cutting
3 - greens were a little "rough" in places and a few times had to take relief on the green !.
Overall I wouldnt rush back, as there are better courses, better kept in the area.
Shame about the greens
Course really well laid out with some challenging holes…however, greens really let the course down
Ok course
Nice course layout, fairways needed a cut couldn’t tell where the rough started. A few bunkers about but are awful and unplayable, become expensive for what it is. £15 tops
Brinkworth golf cpurse
The course itself is OK. A couple of really poorly maintained bunkers and the fairways were cut really long with no natural run.
Greens were OK, but £25 for a round this money needs to be used on investment on the course.
The course was ok
Very wet but that’s expected due to the amount of rain we have had in the area. The greens were in fairly good condition however running very slow.
Okay course for the money but greens were terrible
Played the course a few times and is okay for the price but not much care is taken to the green. However, this time the greens were the worst I have ever seen. They were covered in sand and you could hardly tell the difference between the fairway and the green. I understand that greens need to be dressed for the winter but this was completely appalling, usually the greens are hollow tined then sand put on but they had just covered the whole green with sand with no holes. Really bizarre!!!
Bags of potential
As with other reviews the greens are poor. As are the tee boxes which are bare and in some cases sloped. The general course layout is good but for 20 quid I wouldn’t say it was worth it, maybe £15. Good practice course for high handicappers which I am, but the greens need to be completely re surfaces. In addition to this I think I counted 3 bunkers all which were un playable. The course could be brilliant but a lot of work needs to be completed for that to happen.
Good and the bad
Good 1st staff are excellent and friendly fairway are great the 1st 9 holes are brilliant but the back 9 are very average.
Bad long walk to 1st tee off and some on the back 9 all bunkers are g.u.r and the greens are terrible no point in trying to read them as they are in really bad condition the worst iv ever played on. Improve the greens and it would be a great course.
Poor greens
A course with great potential, greens need some serious attention, however for £14 overall was ok
Good value course
Course layout was good and interesting. I would definitely play here again. The course condition is not great but represents the courses price point. I would recommend giving this course a shot for £15
Good test for beginners, good fun for better players, terrible greens
Course layout and hole designs are great and there are lots of great holes with different options off the tee. The greens were horrendous- slow, bobbly and inconsistent speeds, but this didn’t really detract much from the layout. For £12.50 for 18 holes you can’t really complain too much!
