Not worth the money
The fairways are in okay shape, but the greens were rough. All in all the course is not very well maintained and the staff is neutral in dealing with the public. They have changed the hole configurations so much that gos units do not work on the front nine
Okay Value
The course was busy... okay value. Course was overseeded. Marsh nine is in better shape and greens were very good. If I would play it again. I would play Marsh twice and just change the tees. No driving range and no cart service. Long way to the 1st & 10 tees.
Pleasantly surprised
After playing several of the high $ courses in the area, I was surprised to find overseeded greens, fairways and tees at Bluewater Bay. Bunkers were also in good condition. 3!of the 18 greens had a few bad areas that did not affect losing the hole.
In reviewing ratings before playing, I noticed comments about the.distance from the clubhouse to the starting tee. I didn’t find this to be a problem - I had a cart and directional signs were plentiful.
Will play again when I’m back in the area.
Fun course!
My second time playing Bluewater Bay and I really enjoy playing it. The course is in pretty good condition but definitely not perfect. It’s a pretty short course but it is pretty tight and the greens are small. Right now the ryegrass is still active and it looks pretty good. The greens are good with the exception of 9 Bay. I hope they can keep improving the course because I do enjoy playing it. One thing to note is that they don’t have a practice range so warm up on.
Need a Starter
First there is no place to warm up.
They need to add golf carts.
I was told that I may have give my cart due to the possible lack of golf carts.
The firt tee was a quarter mile down the road.
with no starter at the tee (Willy Nilly Set up)
I played by myself when II should have been paired up with a threesome two groups in front of me. (I joined them after 6 holes)
The other nine was worse. It was a 10 minute cart ride to the tee box.
A twosome of locals cut in front of us and one part was playing 2 balls. When we made a comment about cutting in all we received was rude remarks.
The course was in good shape but there needs to be better structure and oversite on the starting tee and at the turn to control the progress of play.
The long rides to the along with no starter at the first tees to control the players made the round unfortunate. And left a bad taste in my mouth for play.
Great Value for a Nice Course
I like the back 9 better than the front but there are nice view holes on each 9.
Great Value
This course was in nice shape with green grass. The greens were a little slower than what I am used to but they were in good shape as well. They have a couple of holes on the bay which are very pretty and a little challenging. Overall it was a nice course and a very enjoyable day.
Bluewater Bay
This course was in great condition, the best fairway I have played.
Better than expected
We had read the reviews on the course and the staff so were prepared for a not so pleasant experience. However, the round turned out to be ok. No issues with staff, easy check in, great instructions from the Marshall and directions to the first tee. A couple of the greens had issues but the others were great. Layout was not a back and forth and my partner liked that. Pace of play was ok, there was a foursome two groups in front and that slowed things down but overall it was an acceptable pace, “I’ve seen far worse. I felt like it was a good course to get your feet wet on for the first round of the season and was, other than noted greens, in pretty good condition. I would not skip this because of the ratings.
Bluewater Bay
Liked the green fairways and greens.
Challenging course layout and somewhat narrow fairways. Played in 31/2 hours.
Start is a long distance from clubhouse and don’t recommend trying to walk.
Overall, a pleasant experience.
Good experience
Accommodating people
VERY playable course
Very enjoyable
