Lovely views. Fun course.
A buddy of mine and I played and had a great time. The fairways are trimmed well, the greens are fast and in good shape. Overall a great experience. We will go back.
Great views nice layout
Had a wonderful day the the views was great and the golf course was in good condition quiet tight need to hit the fairways or you will lose your ball lost more balls then normal that day give it a try its worth the drive
The course is in great shape is very challenging and very beautiful scenery
I would give it a 4+ star rating. Played 18 holes greens were in good shape. The bunkers had wonderful white sand. The fairways are kept up very nicely staff was very friendly I would recommend this course to anyone.
Gem of a course on the Blue Ridge Parkway
The course is a bit rustic - don't expect pristine fairways and manicured greens. However, the views are killer, the course is challenging, and it is a nice value for the money. Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for cheaper golf options near Asheville.
Great course in the mountains!
It's about an hour and 15 minute drive to this course - it's well worth the drive. The course is in very good condition and the greens were as good as any course around. The course layout isn't as difficult as some in this area but it is as nice a course as those costing twice as much.
Awesome views and great golf course. !!!!!
Ladies and gentlemen , this course is set in one of the most beautiful backdrop's I have seen . The course was in great shape , and all in my foursome group . Had a wonderful time and we can't wait to get back to linville falls , to play another round !!!
Great course layout...by Trevino.
We were all taken by the scenic and pleasantly challenging course with the rocky, rolling links winding creeks. Greens and fairways are lush. We were sometimes confused finding the white tees. They were in place, but it was our first round at Linville Falls, but certainly not our last. It is well-worth the 70 mile drive from Waynesville, NC.
course has a great layout
The course was in great shape, requires you to be able to work the ball both ways and accuracy. It was a fun course to play.
Course has some exacting holes, some you can relax on. A good track.
We were behind a group of elderly gentlemen so the pace was rather slow. Other than that, it was a beautiful day for golf. Either people who don't care or don't know any better were leaving ball marks on the greens. I fixed two or three extra on practically every hole.
No Falls,but Great Golf
On vacation in North Carolina, we drove the Blue Ridge Parkway from Burnsville north to Linville to enjoy a great day of golf. Pro Shop was a bit sparse, but the attendant was nice and got us going quickly. The practice areas are up from the clubhouse and a golf cart would be the best way to get there. The front nine plays southward and the back north bound. The 1st is a dogleg left that a strong fade off the tee box will put you in good position to attack the uphill entry into the green. The fairways had a variety of grasses growing in them but the greens were pure bent grass and running great. The second is
a par 3 with a large receptive green. Watch out if you are a long hitter on the par 4 third, your tee shot could wind up in the many bunkers that protect the green. I landed just short to allow an easy wedge to the green. It is not often I can yell birdie, but yes I did. The fourth isn't that long either but the green is right & uphill of the fairway and everyone came up short on their 2nd. I whispered bogie. The par 5 fifth is all downhill and your second shot could find the creek that crosses in front of the green. I laid back on the right to give me an easier shot into the smallish green. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the layout of the course and the smooth greens. The 6th & 7th play side by side and the short 8th par 3 is a birdie chance. The ninth was a test for my playing partners. I hit a good drive on the left side of the fairway that gave me a chance to go for it. My best shot of the day is when the ball landed on the green for another birdie try, while others were searching in the rough for their layups or in the large creek that runs left of the fairway and in front of the dance floor tucked back to the left. Cha ching!
There was no foodservice at the clubhouse, so we crossed the entry road to play the back. starting with a demanding par 5 to a small green. The 11th is another hole that a good drive could put oneself in jeopardy. Once again I landed in the perfect position to hit a short iron across the wide creek to a large green for a good score. Why do I have to mess up after every good hole?Twelve is a par 3 about 180 yards uphill. I hit into the same creek. Can you hear me whisper bogie? Once again there are a number of par4s to play out bound and then turn back at 16, with a blind shot down the dogleg right slope to a smallish green. The finishing hole is a great one provided you stay out of the woods on the right. We never saw any water falls, but we did have a great game of golf.
Great layout
The course is beautiful. Great condition for amount of rain. Pleasing day of golf.
A fun track!
Picked this course out while on vacation because of the Golfnow rate. Enjoyed playing the course even though it was cart paths only and hadn't been mowed because of the rain the previous two days. Good variety, a few surprises, interesting test of golf. Keep it in the fairways and you'll do well. Greens were receptive and rolled well. Will definitely play again.
Trevino design fun and challenging!
Nice course with some narrow fairways and challenging holes. The layout incorporates a beautiful mountain stream and views galore. Course is in good shape considering all the rain they've had. Plan to go back in the fall for the leaf color and some course knowledge now.
With less moisture
With less moisture(this area has received it's yearly average rainfall already) this course would be great...it played very well even though it was very wet. The greens were very receptive and are protected by numerous bunkers. I highly recommend this course for anyone wanting to play a mountain course without all the drastic elevation changes but with all the mountain views.
Great layout
Beautiful track! More challenging than you would expect. Some fairways are very narrow. Some tee shots are blind. I enjoyed the course very much, and would play it again.
Stunning Scenery, Great Layout
This course is absolutely beautiful. The layout was unique and challenging. Due to a lot of rain in the area, the course was quite fuzzy, but I can definitely see this course being one of the best around when they can get everything mowed. Plus, this course is a great deal to play even if you pay the regular rate. Most beautiful course I've played this year.
A lovely, interesting course.
This course is in a beautiful setting. A stream runs throughout. Their is lots of variety in the holes. Like most of the courses in the area the weather has caused maintenance problems here, but the course was very playable. If you use Golf Now, take a printout of your confirmation.
Really nice layout.
Course was in good condition considering how much rain they have had. Took a long time to play because had to stay on cart path.
A beautiful place to play golf.
The course was well maintained, the rough was indeed rough.
The fairways are narrow, making it very challenging. I lost more balls in the rough than I ever have. All in all it was a wonderful place to be to play golf !!
Great course but you must manage your game
Great course you must manage your ball. Would recommend to others
