Cold Spring Country Club
About
Cold Spring Country Club is situated halfway between Springfield and Worcester. Opened in 2010 in an effort to bring world class golf to western Massachusetts, the club has since garnered a local following. The par-71 layout is unique in that it has six par 3s and five par 5s. There are also some par 4s in the 450-yard range. The 6,521-yard length indicated on the scorecard can be deceiving since it feels much longer when you're playing it. The golf course has plenty of variety, including dogleg lefts, doglegs rights, short holes, and long holes. Thanks to its mountaintop locale, Cold Spring C.C. offers stunning views that are as diverse as the holes. The vistas from the elevated tees and greens stretch to the Berkshires, Connecticut, and Vermont. From the golf course's highest tee box on the par-3 10th, you'll have a panoramic view of central Massachusetts.

The scenery is spectacularly panoramic at several of the Cold Spring tees and greens. This is the first hole, a par-three. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

A terrific par-5 of 490, the second demands good shotmaking to find this green safely. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

The long tenth, a par-4, features an offset fairway and a tough approach to an elevated green site. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

A long par-5, eleven features strong ground movement from tee to green. A beautiful and challenging hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

Although modern, the course maintains a natural feel. Secluded, too, on some holes, such as the sixteenth. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

Course is waking up, aerated greens.
The course is in good shape for this time of year. The greens are aerated with lots of sand, hard to putt on, fairways are good, grass is coming around. This course is a hard walk, lots of hills. Fun to play.
Great course /Poor employee interaction
I have been playing golf for over 35 years and locally I am extremely well known. I could play any course I want but I really enjoy our local courses here in Westen Ma, I have playing this course 2 times a week for 3 straight season now since I have moved closer to it. I am a 8 handicap and travel all over the world playing golf. I had never had a problem anywhere in the world until recently. I have 64 rounds of golf saved that I have played from this course over that 3 season timeframe and have never had 1 negative thing to say until today. I made a tee time on Friday for the following Sat (like I do for every course I play.). Everything went perfect like always. Upon looking at my emails a couple hours later the reservation had been canceled. I thought it was something I did accidentally so proceeded to pick another time(since my oringinal time was now booked)and reserve it again. Again a few hours later I checked my emails again and saw another cancellation for the 2nd tee time I made. I decided to call the course to see what was going on and make an over the phone reservations. I called, got in touch with the pro shop, and began to request a tee time. The 1st response I got from the Pro Shop was “Are you going to show up??” This caught completely off guard. I stated that I play there atleast 2 times a week and have only miss a hand for of time mostly due to heavy rain. The gentleman (who’s name I will not say) proceeded to tell me “Well I have it right here on the computer in front of me,. You have missed 3 reservations over the past!” I told him that I play there every week atleast twice, and the only time I will not play is in the pouring rain. I explained that I play in the cold, wind, or even light rain just not in a downpour and if I didn’t show it would only be due to weather. I was told that he doesn’t know if those day had rain just that I didn’t show. After a little back and forth I told him that fine I will just go to another local course and play there instead. All of a sudden they were willing to give me a tee time without hesitation. ( That a really quick change of heart) Well I declined and made a Tee time 2 minutes later and another local course. The minute I talked to someone in the pro shop at the other local course, I was treated will nothing but respect. Actually as soon as I gave them my name for the reservation, the pro stated how happy he was to have me back playing the course and asked that when I do arrive to come in to say “Hello”So the standard at this course is to cancel reservations with no explanation after confirmation numbers are given, And if you do make a tee time and can’t make it for any reason, Be prepared to have it held against you in the future.
A favorite of mine
6 par 3’s, 6 par4’s, and 6 par 5’s. I enjoy the variety.
Finally a sunny day without rain.
Played 18 in under 4 hours. Saw the Eclipse on the 18th hole. Everyone at the restaurant seemed to enjoy everyone’s company.
Cold Spring
Course was in very good shape after snow fall two days earlier. The course was soaked in only a few spots and damp in others. But considering the weather we’ve had the course is very playable and in great shape!
Great courae
Live up Vermont so had to drive down to play some golf. We still have snow. Well worth the drive. If I were closer I would join.
March Golf
I was just happy to be out in March. There were a lot of people out, but the pace of play was fine. The course layout seemed like it would be very nice at the height of the season. There’s some fun and very challenging holes.
Early Spring Round
Course was in good shape for the time of year a d recent rain. Layout is great with just enough challenges!
great course
I loved the course and the entire staff and restaurant... Couldn't be better.
Great Course
First time to play this course. Interesting and challenging layout, well maintained fairways and greens roll well and very fast. Very friendly staff. It’s a great value to play this beautiful course.
Hilly course, tough walk.
This course is offered as walking, it is a challenge especially on 9 and 18, extreme elevation small greens tough to par.
