First Time Visiting
Overall an excellent experience. They were getting course ready for winter which we were aware of so the greens had just been cut a week or so before. Fairways were in excellent shape and the staff was very friendly. I want to add that the pro shop hats were an excellent price! We will definitely be returning.
Challenging yet a fun layout
Awaraii Dunes is a fantastic example of prairie golf with undulating greens, varied terrain, prairie winds and ample opportunities to score well. The course’s multiple tee boxes allow for all levels of players to enjoy their round.
Beautiful Course
The course is a challenging yet beautiful course. Reminds me a of an Old Irish Links course. Friendly management with a lot to offer!
Great Course
Played it the morning after some heavy rains so the course was wet in some spots, but the greens were dry! I played it for the first last year when they were trying to recover from an icy winter and it has totally bounced back this year. I would put it in the same tier as Wild Horse in Gothenburg, another great course.
While the greens are not all the way back from the winter of2021-2022 they are much improved and almost all are now very true.
Much Better Than 2022
The course was in much better shape than the summer of 2022 when the greens were virtually unplayable. The greens have filled in and roll OK. Again, much improved from a year ago.
Overall the course layout is good. There are a couple greens that are gimmicky which I don’t like. The fairways are extremely generous.
Golf staff very friendly, easy to talk to. After considering not going back after 2022, I will again someday. I just need to get over a couple goofy greens.
Should not be open
It was a rough winter here in central Nebraska and the type of grass this golf course has was hit hard. They have reseeded the greens and fairways. Everything looks dead. All you can do is hit a tee shot and second shot then pick up. This course is always rough in the spring but is very nice when the weather gets hot. Hope it comes back but doesn’t look good now. I drove fifty miles and quit after 5 holes. Did not catch when booking that there was temporary greens. Very disappointed.
Great layout!
Course has a great and challenging layout. The greens are very large and at our time of okay slightly inconsistent as it’s been dry. Fairways in overall great shape as well as the boxes.
Don’t miss this course
Awarii Dunes is a challenging, interesting we’ll kept golf course. A must play!
Just plain fun
Greens are for the thinking person. If you get within 12 feet your putt will roll true.
Golf should be fun. And this course is fun. Wide fairways but the dunes in the fairways and blind shots to the green will keep you interested.
More yardage marking or gps in carts would be nice. Maybe those aren’t true Links course amenities.
First time through … read the guide book for each hole.
Great Track!
Awarii Dunes needs to be on your list of courses to play if you're driving through or around the West/Central part of Nebraska. Great look, great layout, wide fairways and some tricky greens!
Highly Recommended!
