Esplanade Golf & Country Club at Lakewood Ranch

PLAYED THIS COURSE 3 YEARS AGO AND RAN INTO BIG ATTITUDE, FROM PRO SHOP TO STARTER TO MARSHALL, SWORE NEVER TO RETURN,,,, BUT THIS TIME WAS COMPLETE OPPOSITE, FRIENDLY, GREAT STARTER AND MARSHALLS !!!! THANKS !!!

This is our first round at Esplanade and we'll likely return if there is a good rate. Back nine holes require more target strategy...particularly par 5 17th & par 4 18th.....Stay left of 150 marker on second shot on the 17th and aim for the singular tree in the distance for your tee shot on 18th. Rough along most of the bunkers is burned/hardpan and needs help, causing your ball to easily run into the bunkers. Greens ran slow on this day and not true, however they have good undulations. Even though there were numerous groups playing in the afternoon, the pro shop and all restroom facilities were locked up at 6pm. No chance to even purchase a beverage or use facilities. NOT reasonable business.

A large discrepancy between the very back T 6750 and the golden tea which was 6100 I played the black and it was reasonable not too long greens were slow today and some of the fringes around the greens were a little rough the sand in the bunkers was thin and hard cheese and fairways were very nice driving areas were very generous

This is a quality course.
Great practice areas as well.
Unlimited range ball.
Chipping area.. bunkers included.

Course in good shape, greens rolled true. Both fairways and greens generously sized, thus making the course easy to play. Would recommend playing this track

Enjoyable course to play. A very fair track, although I thought the greens were a tad slower than I was expecting. Practice & after golf facilities very good.

Nice layout , I played here last May and the fairways were in better shape, they seemed not as plush. Silver tees are 5900 and very fair

This was our second time playing the course and there is a significant difference morning to afternoon. When we played it in the morning there was a starter to walk through pace of play, local rules etc and a ranger out on course to keep things moving. This time playing at 2:50, what a difference. No starter and no ranger. We arrived at the tee to watch the group in front of us just teeing off. 8 minutes after our tee time we finally started. 4 hours and 45 minutes later we finished after waiting on almost every hole.

Played the course for the first time this year.. played it twice last winter and thought it was one of the best tracks in the area.
The experience today did not disappoint.

Great course, beautiful shape lots of bunkers- you will love it. Club house almost ready. One prob was no rangers. Wow. A twosome help up our foursome for the entire round with no one in front of them. Not nice.
I will play again.
