Good Day of Golf!
The course is in excellent condition. The fairways were beautiful and the greens were in great shape.
scovill Golf fun
Golfed with my son who is starting to learn the game & he liked the course. Up & down play.
Excellent Par 71
This is not an extremely long course but challenging due to hills. Very well maintained and great staff.
Hilly, but scenic
It was surprising to arrive at this course and see the hills, where we were anticipating a more city and flat ground view. The course was in great shape. I felt the greens were slow and difficult. Overall a fun and challenging day for a couple of average players.
Nice golf course
This is the second time I played this course, and I actually like it better than when I played the first time. The greens now are greener, and the lay out is OK. It looks like they got rid some of the bunkers, and the ranger is now actually driving around to check just to make sure that those slow players are letting some of the fast players pass through... the staff are friendlier now than my first time.
weekly player
I play this course every week in my golf league. I can say the best time to hit this course is mid to late spring. Scovil is the only course to be under the city's water restrictions (when they are in place). Which is why they are attempting. To reseed the fairways with zoiza. The course has become sort of the family course so early tee times are recommended. They did adjust the rates accordingly. Course is the shortes t of all Decatur courses but plays longer due to rolling hills up and down to blind shots. Tree lined fairways will teach you sometimes the best play is 90 out to safety. This is a short yet challenging and beautiful course with character. Even without the most optimal course conditions it is a pleasure to play from the mid handicap golfer to the low handicap golfer.
Decent Course
Scovill is a decent course with a very friendly staff. It is a goat's trail with lots of up hill, down hill hole layouts. The greens putted true. The sand was excellent. Some of the best I've seen at a public course. All in all, a fun course to play.
fairways are a little patchy so it is hard to play the ball down everywhere.
Scovill is a very pretty course. It is short but has some hazards that make it challenging.
The fairways are a little rough in spots due to re-seeding that didn't work.
The clubhouse is nice and has a nice snack area inside with a patio area outside with a nice view of the 9th and 18th hole.
beautiful course! One of my favorites!
Scovill is in Great shape for golfers! Fairways are nicely cut and greens are mid to fast. Mom and I played 18 holes then went on to play 9 more! Other than stinkin hot and no wind, we had a wonderful relaxing round and a half!
Friendly staff... good course conditions.
Really good course for the money. Staff is always friendly and rangers are very helpful.
Been playing this course since I was a kid
The weather held up and enjoyed the round. New fairways still need another year to mature. Couldn't beat the discounted price it was excellent. Overall the course was in good condition.
Before 10am
Reserved golf on Golf now for a 9:50am tee time. The course charges $27.00 before 10am but charged us $39.00 anyways and would not adjust the price because we reserved a tee time on golf now.
Bad shape
Fairways were in bad shape, tee boxes were in bad shape and even the driving range was in a temporary location.
Good value easy to get on
Course is rough in places because of recently planted zoysia grass, but it will grow in. Great deals on Golf Now on this course and it is easy to get on. Even though the course is a bit rough it is still can be tough.
trees suround course makes great looking scenery
I believe they are working on fairways , but right now they are on poor condition
Course was in bad shape
Tees - pretty rough
Fairways - nearly unplayable
Greens - decent
I think they're trying to reseed the fairways to a different grass, but they are unbearable right now.
Also, if you're playing it for the first time, try to get some advice on a lot of the tee shots. It's a placement course
Very hilly
Like this course. It can be very challenging if u miss the fairways
This course needs much attention!
WOW! This course is in TERRIBLE condition right now. The fairways are trashed. I think that they are trying to clean the place up, but it is currently in such bad shape that it might be more than a year before I could recommend this course to a friend.
Get what you pay for
I can't complain too much because I only paid $18 for 18 holes with a cart. The course was definitely worth that price. That being said, the fairways were in absolutely awful condition from start to finish. Greens were a little slow, but well maintained. Interesting, and well maintained bunkers as well.
