Ridgemark Golf & Country Club
About
Tucked away between the mountains and foothills of the Gabilan and Diablo Ranges, Ridgemark Golf & Country Club enjoys a peaceful, secluded setting. San Benito County has been especially hard hit by drought and as a way to make the best of a tough situation, the decision was made to combine the club's two championship courses into one, more challenging layout. Golfers who loved the former courses need not worry. The best holes have been incorporated in the new layout along with the addition of some new and interesting holes, like the tough risk-reward seventh hole. The golf course has plenty of challenges in store including doglegs, strategically placed bunkers, tree-lined fairways, and water hazards. At just shy of 7,000 yards from the back tees, there are some long holes that are especially tough but you'll get some great mountain views from the elevated tees.

San Benito gem
Nice layout, beefy par 3's, friendly residents, risk/reward opportunities, good eats afterward and golf staff was very personable and accommodating
great golf great price in San Benito County
How can you beat the price of $26 per player for 18 holes with a cart?Great pace of play, course is well laid out and the staff was very accommodating. Post round beer, wings and calamari strips went down well. We’ll be back for sure.
A good, quick Sunday play
Playing a public course in 4 hours 10 mins was a joy. The next most important thing is greens and they were in good shape. There was some distance between holes due to holes taken out of play. The course was 36, now 18 but with a cart that’s manageable. The restaurant was nice and the servers were very helpful. I would recommend this course.
Beautiful day and good playing
We 4 had a great day playing without much delay, The course was green and pretty good shape. We stopped to have an early dinner and drinks, great food and service. They have eought room for celebrate an event.
2.5 stars
Overall- The decision on what to rate this course was a difficult one to reach. Based on course conditions, solely, it would be a two. Factor in the cost, the pace, the staff, and the fun design and it can be considered a three.
Pace- Teed off mid morning after the early times and never had anyone in front or behind the entire day. 3.5 hours included an at the "turn" long drive back to the clubhouse to get drinks as water on course was scarce.
Conditions- The conditions varied greatly. Greens ran medium to quick, some were very bad, some nice and smooth, and some in between. Bunkers were crusty but had good sand bases, many had been neglected by players and left unraked. Tees, consistent coverage with some unlevel and/or divoted areas. Fairways mostly good with some bare areas and some unkempt areas. Rough was thick and unmown in some areas and uniform in others. There is a serious critter problem and there were many areas of the course with the corresponding damage from tunneling, feeding, burrowing etc.
Staff- Were all extremely nice and easily the best part of the experience.
Value- Good enough for us to drive over from the Central Valley.
Layout- Kikuyu on most of the course makes it play long for the yardage. Not knowing this was previously 36 holes it appeared to us as if the layout had been altered by abandoning holes and adding others. Apparently it is a compound layout of holes from the original two courses reduced to 18. A few of the holes may be described as quirky or unique depending on your pov, #7 and #10.
Amenities- Aging but well kept.
Ridgemark Golf
Greens recently punched?
Fairways need tending.
Still a good value.
Cheapest local course
I learned to play golf here...This used to be a well kept course but it has lost some of its luster. Cross your fingers that they’ve cut the grass or you will lose quite a few balls. I went to the range last week and the practice putting green looks worse than I know how to explain, completely unusable. Poor maintenance of the entire course, not sure what happened over the last year. If you go on a day where they actually cut the grass and have been maintaining the greens, it’s actually a decent course that can be fun. Don’t expect a drink cart, haven’t seen it in about a year. And the snack shack is abandoned as well. If you’ve got the money go to San Juan Oaks up the road. You won’t regret it.
Ridgemark
Decent course
Great online price
Would definitely come back
They need to update the course, my GPS did only worked for a few holes, they went from 36 holes to 18.
Excellent Value
Due to economic constraints and water conservation, the fairways are not plush, but the greens are mostly reasonable. My cart was a bit long in the tooth, but for the price, I find Ridgemark to be a fun round at an attractive rate. I am frequently paired with other golfers who have invariably been friendly and engaging.
what can I say it was 109%s on my birthday Round with a freind
Good round but got to hot and a little tired near the end but still managed to have some amazing shots on 12,13,14 15 17 &18. I used GolfNow.com to book thank GOD I had a friend in town for my Birthday . Because when I try to book by myself it very rarely and seldom happens with Golf Now.com and I like this course
The course is fun to play.
The course is in pretty good shape. Playing thru GolfNow it is a real bargain.
Great day at Ridgemark Golf
Couldn't of asked for a better day to join my buddies for an afternoon of golf. The Ridgemark golf course is a nice course to play, moderate to somewhat difficult but nice especially for a guy that can hit three good shots in a row and shank the fourth one. The course is well kept and the staff is great. Come and join us.
Great!
This is the second time I played this course and it's a fun course.
For an older course it's still in good shape.
Not overly booked so you don't feel pressure to hurry.
All in all with the nice Monterey ocean breeze it's a great course to play.
