Ridgemark Golf & Country Club
About
Tucked away between the mountains and foothills of the Gabilan and Diablo Ranges, Ridgemark Golf & Country Club enjoys a peaceful, secluded setting. San Benito County has been especially hard hit by drought and as a way to make the best of a tough situation, the decision was made to combine the club's two championship courses into one, more challenging layout. Golfers who loved the former courses need not worry. The best holes have been incorporated in the new layout along with the addition of some new and interesting holes, like the tough risk-reward seventh hole. The golf course has plenty of challenges in store including doglegs, strategically placed bunkers, tree-lined fairways, and water hazards. At just shy of 7,000 yards from the back tees, there are some long holes that are especially tough but you'll get some great mountain views from the elevated tees.

Like the changes
I really like the changes they made to the course. Made for a much more enjoyable round, however when we made the turn we didn't see the clubhouse anywhere. And when we finally found it and went to the bar to order some food the staff was rude and very unaccommodating. Other than that the course was great and I would play it again.
Great course, not during tournament
This course has good challenges, open fairways.
However, a tournament was playing and even though our start time was pushed back, it still took 5.5 hours to complete 18 holes.
course
The course is green right now. But, with it only being 18 holes now instead of 36 holes. It should look like San Juan Oaks. Or better reasonable daily rates if not up to par. A little over priced weekend mornings or mornings in general. I could get a little in depth but don't feel the need to nag. Its a good course and you should give it a shot.
Greens were very soft
Half of the greens had been punched a week earliear and were still very rough and slow. Other greens were so soft the ball would waiver back and forth from peoples foot indentations. Other than that the course was lush and in great shape.
sand
there was a quarter inch of sand on every green there was no notification on golfNow are at the golf course until we hit the first green very poor communication
Nice course, bad day
The course itself was nice but the greens were freshly plugged & sanded. The sand was so thick it added 1 to 2 putts to every hole. Might not have golfed if we knew ahead of time. Play was very slow, probably because of this.
Ridgemark GC
One Golfer joined the two of us, the day was perfect, cart girl was friendly and food and drinks were all good. No back ups played right on through
Disappointed
Starter was unavailable. Went out as a single around noon. Played through a 2 some, male/female, who waived me through. Played through a 4 some, couple, by skipping hole 3. Also played through a 4 some who offered me to join them, I declined. Played 2 holes and ran into a 3 some, female group. Played behind them until hole 10 where it was backed up by 3 groups. Quit and went to hole 18. Very disappointed in the pace of play. I acknowledge that I was a single but the quality of play in front of my was abysmal. I like the course but may not return
Golfing Girls
We had a group of four golfing. The weather was beautiful, the course was fun and the staff was very friendly. We all had a wonderful day.
New lay out
This was our first time playing here since they eliminated 18 holes. The course was in good shape, but the new layout is horrible. Instead of just closing one of the two courses, they tried to keep holes from each course. This meant for extremely long and strange drives from one hole to the next. Was frustrating at imes trying to figure out where the next hole was. Not sure why they chose this option and sadly wouldn't be surprised if this old course doesn't survive now, given the weird layout and difficult times for good these days.
Spring time
The condition of the course was great! The greens were outstanding!
The staff was very friendly, I haven't had a golf course leave me with the wanting to go back, as this one did.!
Renovation still needs work
The "new" course is a combination of holes from the two "old" courses. Overall, I think the selection of holes was good. Challenging, but not impossible. They are working on getting the greens in top shape, but not there yet. Likewise for the fairways. However, for what we paid, it was a great value.
Except for the private leaf blowers this is an outstanding course.
My buddy and I met two locals who were a lot of fun to play with. Nothing like local knowledge, and they had a great sens of humor.
Enjoyable outing
Due to the combining of the two courses, it was sometimes confusing as to where the next hole to play was and how to get there. Other than that, I found the course very nice. Greens were large and in good shape.
Scruzer
I have never entered a review but felt compelled to warn other golfers of this course. It is in the process of being converted 'down' to an 18 hole course. Therefore two of the holes were not available this day to us (no reason given). We were re-routed several times as they consolidated two courses into one. Signage was very confusing. Course was in 'okay' shape. Greens were good but due to drought, fairways were somewhat marginal in areas. Even though it was a good price, we will not be coming back. Too many other good courses in the area for almost the same price.
Good course, but slow player in front of us
I came in as single, and played with other guys as 3-sum. The course was nice, well maintained. It was perfect weather, even hot. It was good pace until 9 holes, but from 10 holes we caught up very very slow people. Marshall said they are 12 people tournament and we can't pass them, even I couldn't see any people in front of them on any holes. I guess they played as 6-hours or more for 18 holes. Then we played over 5 hours as a result. It was painful round.
A great day of golf!
Check in was smooth, Rochelle was very pleasant and professional. Green fee rate is definitely affordable, paid $32 after noon, included cart. The course was in great shape, well maintained and groomed. Greens were in fantastic condition. The sand in the bunkers were well raked and fluffy. The only problem I had was that the beverage cart did not come by often enough. I would recommend this course to anyone. Worth the drive from San Jose. As Arnold said "I'll be back".
Play with Someone Familiar with the course
This is a pretty good course and it is challenging enough without bring overly difficult but it can be a bit confusing. You see, this used to be a two 18 hole golf course resort but they have changed into being just one course utilizing some of the holes from both of the original coursers. Everything is in good shape but finding your way around can be difficult unless you play with someone already familiar with the layout, and it is a bit off the beaten path, but still fun to play.
Unfare round
We played only 11 holes because we had to return the carts at 2:00 PM. it was not mentioned when I reserved 18 holes.
Pleasantly surprised
Overall the course was in good shape for lack of water. The greens were perfect, they rolled nicley and stopped on those long approach shots. Some of the holes are challenging but fair, we played the white tees. The key is to keep ball in the fairway, if not the tree lines will eat you up. Hit your three wood if needed to stay in the fairway and enjoy... This was my first time playing the course and was pleasantly surprised.
