Championsgate Country Club.
My wife & I played the course today for the first time, we were paired with Gary from Nova Scotia who was excellent company. The 3 of us really enjoyed the course but as we tee off at 1:20pm it was slightly spoilt by the 4 Ball in front of us (part of a party of about 12) being extremely slow & showed no concern for all the people they were holding up.
That said we throughly enjoyed the day and will definitely play again and recommend to our friends.
Still a good course, but.........
I really like this course. The greens are among the best I have played in this area, the rest of the course is also in good shape. The "but" is the ongoing construction on the front 9. The routing from hole to hole is poorly marked on some holes and is generally just a pain. Doesn't really effect play but still a pain. FWIW I played 18 in abt 3 hrs but that not the norm.
Folding tables no more!
I first played the course it had just opened and staff was operating from a folding table--no trailer, no electricity.....what a change! All for the good!
Champions Gate is Classy Country Club (feel)
Awesome! Great service, great course conditions & just great day for the last day of 2018. As a single, I was paired with wonderful couple & local homeowner --we played in 4hrs. It was windy, but 82* sunshine, and I scored fairly well playing the "blended tees." It was a lot of fun & Thanx to GolfNow for the great Hot Deals Special & an affordable rate for this old hacker.
Great Course - better condition
This is a very good course. Others have already stated that there's alot of construction (which is true) - however, it's a very good course in which the construction only comes into play when driving between holes.
It's a challenge without being too hard for all skill levels.
Maybe Play again later
I was disappointed with the course but after all the construction is finished it ( I hope ) will be a very nice course but the course also needs to be watered more the fairways seamed dry. The greens were dry also. All in all I probably won't play it again for a long time ( at least 1 year )
Wish we would have been informed of the construction and temporary green on #5 prior to our reservation.
Decent track - lots of construction
The course was in decent shape although there were several temporary routes and construction on the front 9. The 5th hole is a par 5 and instead had a temporary pin in the middle of the fairway at 140 yards.
Not a visually impressive clubhouse, although the staff at the bag drop and pro shop were very friendly and accommodating. The starter did an excellent job describing the temporary conditions, pin positions, etc however there was no Marshall on the course. Once I got to the 10th hole there were three groups bottle-necked.
Overall the course was good, however I would not return for that price while it’s under construction.
A little misleading. Not affiliated with Omni Resorts.
Routing is a little wacky. Looks like a lot of construction in the area.
Should have been told about hole 5 being a temporary hole.
Lack of water/beverage cart on the course is an issue. Course was in good shape and greens were very true.
Love this course but it will be better when all the construction work is complete on the front nine
We have played this course every year since it opened.. it has always been one of our favourites in the area. The. course is in excellent condition, the staff are really friendly, free range balls & a great pace of play.. It is a shame that the front nine has so much construction work going on & the fifth shortened from a par four to par three..
Looking forward to coming back next year when it is all finished.
For a relatively new course it is settling down very nicely. The only drawback for me at the moment is the amount of construction going on in and around the course. The temporary green on 5 was also a disappointment. Nonetheless a lovely course and worth a visit.
Everything from the Teebox to the green was good, Greens Rolled fast and true, the only negative was there was a lot of construction going on especially on the front nine, they finally got the clubhouse built and it’s very Nice outside and inside went in after our round got something to eat it was good and the service was great
This is a golf course with a very different set up. It is made up of eighteen individual holes and it is spread over acres and acres of land within a housing estate which is still in its infancy. The first time I played this course the Clubhouse was a portacabin but it now has a workable Clubhouse where you can find everything under one roof. The course was in excellent condition and the greens were true if you managed to hold the line. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Championsgate.
5th hole was a temp green. besides that all was great
Lots of construction
Construction interfere with so many holes, one of par 4 hole has changed to par 3 with temporary green look like fairway.! Not worth the money right now!
