Nice Course 27 Hole Layout
Very nice military course. Plenty challenging from the tips. Fairways in terrific shape and greens "pretty good". Virginia had some terrible heat this summer with tons of rain early and then no rain late in the summer. Greens are pretty decent all things considered. Very fair layout with plenty of challenges. 27 holes so you can play a slightly different 18 three times.
Not Bad
First time at The Pines. Not a difficult course that was a bit hampered by just having aerated the greens so the were pretty rough. I will probably go back next year to see how the greens are at their peak.
Great Course
The course is in great shape.
Nice course
Course is in great shape, and fun to play. I would definetly recommend to any level golfer as the have four sets of tees.
Great value
Course was in great shape. A lot better then some of the higher price golf courses I have played
Thought strange snack bar closes at 3pm on a Saturaday
This was one of the best course I have played in a long time. Outstanding Course!
Outstanding Course, very good layout with the Pine Trees in the foreground. Nice and Wide Greens. Looking forward to playing there again in the future.
The pines
Course was in good condition and pace of play good
Think Tight and have fun
Great course, personnel and price. A must for all who have approved base access and want to tune up your golf game.
Plan to walk so you can enjoy the layout. Above average DoD course.
A great course for young golfers to test shot shaping and big tee shots.
Every hole has new challenges
Well designed course. Not just your point A to point B course. Several Challenging tee shots but not too difficult. I would give it a 7 out of 10. Well worth the money. Even has a Family friendly 9 hole course with additional "large" tin cups for kids.
Bang for your buck
The Pines is a wonderful, staff friendly course. I enjoyed the layout. From Fairway to Green the course was in good condition for the end of September.
Great Value
Wide open course. Keep it in the fairway and you'll score well. Greens were not in great shape. Several had dirt patches or weeds. We played on a Tuesday morning and had the course to ourselves. Course is ON a military base. Expect to have your vehicle THOROUGHLY searched at the gate - and prepare to show ID, insurance and registration. I didn't realize it was on the base when I booked our tee time (I didn't mind but it would have been nice to know). Prices are GREAT for snacks and drinks.
A hidden gem
Had a wonderful round at Fort Eustis. The fairways and tee boxes were in great shape, watch the rough the golf ball will disappear in front of your eyes. Some of the greens had dirt issues, but they putted true. I didn't get to try the restaurant at the club house they didn't open until 11am, I thought this was strange on the weekend for earlier morning tee times that wanted to enjoy breakfast before the round. One of the most scenic courses in the area, like I said a hidden gem. I will return!
Ft. Eustis Golfing
IT was Extremely hot and no wind. I loved the course. The greens were pretty burnt up, but that's because of the heat. Great value for the money.
Greens in POOR condition
The course was VERY WET. Was very surprised how bad the greens where. Last time I played a few months back they where in much better condition. On top of a very wet, and very bad condition greens. The mosquito's and deer flys where unreal...they where out for blood! Be prepared, they are relentless.
Course is o.k.
The greens were certainly not in the best of shape, with lots of bare spots and dirt on many of them. The fairways were in nice shape and the rough was a little tall. This is a challenging golf course, and fun to play. I wished they had better rates for Seniors, to compete with the other courses in the area. Deer is abundant on the course, and can be found on just about any hole at times.
Great day of golf with friends
The course was in good condition , the pace was great . Will definitely return for more .
Great Price
Course was nice. The majority of the staffing was nice. Bitter taste when we waited over 25 minutes to check in. They seemed as if they had never seen a Golfnow purchase. I had to continue to convince the golf pro that a portion of the payment was already paid through Golfnow. I was informed that the rate Golfnow offered was for "active military" only. I explained that it never mentioned that in the terms and conditions regarding the purchase. They're me feel as if it was my fault for the mishap.
Not sure I would play there again especially on a Golfnow booking.
Great Value
Great Value and the course was in great condition. The only downside was the snack bar did not open till 11am, which I thought was dumb and no carts selling drinks or food.
