Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club - Grizzly/Kodiak Course
About
Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club in Ocean View is conveniently located just three miles west of Bethany Beach along the Eastern Shore. The club offers 27 championship holes that are divided into three different nines, Grizzly, Kodiak, and Black Bear. The holes are played in three different combinations. Each nine has a unique character but every course shares winding bentgrass fairways lined with native wetland grasses and a landscape of sandy dunes and grassy hollows. The Grizzly/Kodiak Course is the shortest of the three combinations but it still has the same level of challenge. Strategically placed bunkers come into play along the oversized greens and water hazards also come into play on a few holes There is an interesting variety of holes that each require a different strategy.

Flexibility
We had a late tee time and moved up 4 hrs and got our round in before the weather got in. Kuddos to staff for their flexibility
Great Course
The place is well organized and staff very polite thank you for a great day
Rude Staff; Care more about people that live on the course
I played Yesterday May 7, and ran into many issues at the end of my round. On my last two holes of the day, there had been people playing out of their backyards working on their “Short game” and a family walking a dog on 9 of bear trap with no want to move. I have been playing golf my whole life and never have ran into people that do not care that I paid to played A FULL ROUND OF 18. I call the staff and nobody seems to care they all seem to care more about the people living on a PUBLIC COURSE then the people that pay them money to play 18. I have never played 16 holes and enjoyed it to have two holes make me never want to play at a course again. It’s really upsetting the staff showed no care what’s so ever and cared more that I was upset and rude because I COULDN’T FINISH MY ROUND. I would personally recommend you do not go to this golf course as you will not got treated how you should. They don’t care what happens they just want your money. Here are some courses that are great in the area and the staff cares about the players; Eagles Landing, Light House, River Run, Cripple Creak, and many more!
Bear Trap Dunes Review
Played Bear Trap yesterday and the course is in great shape. I usually enjoy my rounds at BTD but yesterday the pace was way too slow. It appears they may have overbooked. The beautiful weather could have influenced it as well. Bear Trap gets a lot of play on a regular basis but it was annoying to wait 10 minutes to tee off after every hole. Other than that, a good experience.
Spring golf
Course was in decent shape for March. They ran out of carts and the range is closed so there was some dead time a d play was very slow.
Good deal
We play here regularly and the course is generally well maintained and with 36 holes offers nice variety. We had some pace of play issues in the past but the starter today was very on top of it and did his best to route us to improve the pace. Much appreciated and it was just over 4 hours despite some waits not too bad for our twosome. Staff is friendly, greens were quite fast and true and the conditions were good. For $55 on GN it was a very good value for the money
