Nice municipal course
I've played out here a number of times. Greens are almost always in great shape. Nice fairways to play off of with acceptable rough. Sand traps almost always need some work (partially on staff, partially on other golfers never raking). Pace can get slow on the weekends, but that's a municipal course for you. There are certainly nicer "private" courses in Little Rock, but well kept greens, nice views, and a challenging (yet manageable) layout make this one a worthwhile round.
Good times!
Very fun, old school layout. Wide, bending fairways with multi-layered greens. We enjoyed it.
Rebsamen Golf Course
I have played this course many times and love the course itself. It seems they don't fancy single golfers though... Maintenance does a great job and the course plays well other than the bunkers. What turned me off to this course is the way it is run. Errytime I I come to play this course, I notice that someone is always in an atrocious, and i mean downright nasty mood in the proshop. The head guy out there, I think his name is George Amos, is always yelling at people for no reason. I saw him barking and diminishing a handicapped person that works outside doing carts. What a way to make an impression. His persona is very poor for being in that position. I thought a golf course was supposed to be quiet but there is constant yelling and commotion out there... The other staff is friendly sometimes and the golf carts are terrible. Don't let the management take away from how beautiful the course is. Like i said, it plays very well and is a challenge for all golfers. I will return for sure though!!!
Play somewhere else.
Unless you have all day to sit around and wait for tee boxes to open up, go somewhere else. Seems this course attracts the worst of the worst golfers in Central Arkansas. Waiting and watching the agonizing play makes for a miserable experience and, although they have someone running around marshalling play, the pace is deplorable. The course is littered with debris, twigs/pine cones/fuzzy junk/and more) from tee to green. Sand boxes are a joke and there are many of them. I recall when they renovated this course years ago and how nice it was. It didn't last long.
Even after 2 days of rain the course was perfect
Made a reservation early in the week and had rain for multiple days up to the day of our tee time, Was worried about it but the course held up perfectly and dried out very well. Very happy to get in a solid round even after adverse weather.
It will get better soon.
GolfNow bargain outing, just a twosome with average ability.
Staff, as always, friendly and accommodating. As the course was not nearly crowded, we were afforded all the flexibility we needed plus some.
Greens are excellent for this time of year; the fairways are practically bald with the grass just starting to grow -- hopefully, the superintendent will let it grow some before shaving it all off again.
I think Rebsamen Park will be outstanding a little later, but for now, Burns and Hindman seem to be a little better.
Try it, I think you will like Rebsamen, too.
Super Day !!
Things were running a little behind, but Eric took charge and let us tee off on #10 which made it possible to finish the round. That decision was greatly appreciated!! My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful day on the course. Thanks to the Staff at Rebsamen
Nice city course/reasonable fee
Rebasamen is an above average city course. Great greens, ball eating Bermuda ruff, and leaf confusing lies but a nice golf course which can be forgiving to s slice or a hook. The down sid. Rebasamen can play slow. New golfers and slow foursomes and make for a 4.5-5 hr round and when you are a two some always waiting without yield it will be the afternoon. Golf now rated are great savings. The city should back this fine course and help with some labor to fill up ruts around cart paths, everywhere, and help with more frequent mowing. Make this course first class!
Rebsamen Course Quality
I've played this course amongst many others for quite a bit now and I'm completely done.
Pricing is comparable
Staff is courteous
Greens are moderate
Cons:
You're always rushed or waiting
Fairway/T-box lawn Mx is needed
Leafs/feathers are in abundance, losing balls is a course requirement it seems like.
Marshalls are a bit grouchy
Don't let my review deter you, if you want or like this course speak up. But when comparing this course to The Greens at north hills, Burns Park or Country Club; it's sub-par...
Good course for area
This is the best public course inside the city limits of Little Rock. It is usualy in good shape and has the some very good well kept greens. It is a challenging layout with all varieties of holes. It has long and short par 4's including #17 which is drivable but with obstacles. As a local from the area you can never go wrong playing this public course if you want to stay inside the city limits
This course is far superior to Burns park and if you're going to complain about slow play here then the CC of AR is way worse. I agree the staff isn't the friendliest but I've hardly ever had a problem. The Greens at North Hills is a great course but it's greens are nowhere near the shape this course is. I don't believe your assessment is fair and I'd certainly recommend this course over the other city courses you recommended
