Fun, hidden gem

My wife and I played this course for the first time. We were playing a day or two after a storm so there were definite soft, wet areas. This was a great course to hone your short game. Ruben, who works in the office was extremely friendly and helpful. Additionally, I'm glad this course is available to US Veterans to play for free!

Don’t go

Terrible gravel parking lot that messed up my wheels pretty bad. Worst hidden entrance possible. Not to mention the right and packed course. Save your money.

Heads Up!

Keep you head on a swivel. All holes are adjacent to each other. That, combined with mostly new or young golfers learning the game makes for a dangerous round. That being said, the two vets I joined were incredibly friendly and the greens fees support a great cause.

Small course, holes are very compacted

Course was a bit confusing, from some points you are looking at 2 or 3 flags and can be confusing which one to aim for especially for a first timer

I will most likely not come back!

The course was dangerous....balls came against us a few times!
The layout is nor good.
The greens was pretty rough too and the maintenance guy was working at the green while we played.
I got a good score for me to be (30). 3 over par!

Nice Surroundings, but I might not come back to play!

It was really slow, since we had a group of 2 in front of us that used allot of time! The layout was strange and almost dangerous. The greens looks nice, but they were rough. It looks like they keep it up pretty good, but It’s not really the course I will be hanging out on.

Great for a quick short game practice round

This is a very quick and easy short game course. The tees are turf but outside of that, it's a fun little course. The layout can be confusing but we had a great time. It was leisurely and fun and it's supporting a great cause. We'll play here again when we want a quick round.

Nice course. first come first serve.

I booked a tee time for 3 golfers through golf now ($7.50), but when I arrived the guy at the front desk told me that it’s a first come, first served course. No reservations required. So basically I payed GolfNow for nothing. Other than that the people are nice. The course is short but it’s easy to get a tee time for a last-second decision to play.

Worth it for Vets - but not for the general public

First of all it is hard to find behind the VA hospital grounds. Which would be OK if the golf experience was good but unfortunately it wasn't. One of the staff members was fine yet the older fellow was a bit cranky. Would not describe them as friendly. They don't allow any teeing off except from the mats, which is fine as they have nice little tee holders on the mats. Some holes have some challenges mostly due to the hilliness as traps and water aren't in the picture. Overall the course condition was poor, particularly the greens which were shaggy and slow with some bare spots. Fairways were shaggy too. The biggest annoyance however is the crazy layout. They need to invest a few bucks in some signs to point players to the next hole as the tees for two holes in particular (# 5 and 8) are not where you'd expect the tee box. Fairways and greens are close together and you have to watch that other players aren't hit or don't hit your ball by mistake, as happened to us. For vets this course is free, so their price is right. However, paying $25 per person as we did is absolutely outrageous given the quality of the golf, as $ 10 is all this track warrants. It is easy to see why this course wasn't busy on a perfect weather Sunday afternoom.

Odd Course - Some pluses and minuses

Not well known which makes it easier to get tee times. But finding the course takes some work as it is behind the VA buildings. Nice staff. Green conditions generally decent, Couple holes are challenging - it's all par 3's , but the layout is odd and often tough to determine where the next hole is. Winds effect play and there are some hills to climb.. Fair # of newer golfers play here which affects pace of play. Decently priced and West LA weather is more temperate than what you get in the Valleys during the summer so there are some reasons to play this course. But the oddness of the layout and the lack of compelling holes does not make it a real go-to destination as consistently as other courses.

Great 9-Course Par 3, Awesome Charity

I started playing here when I took lessons with Carlos. Everyone is incredibly nice and accommodating. There’s clubs for rental. If you’re a beginner like me, this is a great place to start.

The course itself is great. Maintained relatively well and clean.

The best part is that this course promotes good as a therapeutic method for veterans. So your fees go towards a good cause!

Too expensive for what it is

This is a cute little par 3 but any golfer will tell you the cost is far too expensive for 9 holes. It’s very easy to figure out it needs to be lowered when comparing it to other courses. They need to offer a “twilight” rate at the very least
