nice day in Apple Valley
The city run course in Apple Valley. This course has a long history - and is a design from the past. (for me this is NOT a negative.) The length of the course seemed a bit excessive -- even considering the altitude in Apple Valley. Several par 4's in excess of 400 yards. I was hitting long approaches even off my best drives. (maybe that's what I should be working on).
Good pace of play and the greens and fairways were nicely kept for a muni course. Friendly staff was eager to help. The practice range is somewhat limited - but still offers a place to smack some balls before teeing off on No. 1.
Give it a try if you are in the area.
Awesome Course!
This course was AWESOME and well worth the 120 mile drive to play it! The course pro was a cool dude and hooked me up with a couple re-grips and driver adjustments. Lunch (breakfast) was delicious at the restaurant. I will play here again!
Rude
Had 8:30 tee time pro shop said we have to wait for two groups coming off 18 . We let three groups by go , we walked to tee and staff guy comes out mad I have two more groups just wait . They were not busy we go out 50 min late
Good course
I think that the reward should be used at any given time not three days in advance
A surprising gem!
What a pleasant round of golf! Wide fairways, smooth greens, nice bunkers, and excellent pace of play with affordability! If it wasn’t so far from home I’d play here often
Always a great experience at Apple Valley Golf Course
I play this course as much as possible. In fact, I consider Apple Valley to be my "home course". Pro Shop staff is always professional and helpful. The food at Roy Dale's is excellent and the adult beverages are well poured and a great value for the money. I recommend this as the best course / value in the area.
Great for the money!!!
Greens r fast and good! Bunkers could have some help but for the money great value.
Something out of the norm
Great course, former PGA tour stop, also formerly private, excellent layout, not a soul in front of our group, lightning fast greens, grass was dormant bermuda, tough par 3s and some beastly par 4s , all in all a great course for the money, not as far as one would think either.
challenging course. greens are well protected with bunkers. greens are very fast. fairways aren't in the best shape this time of year. mostly yellow and ugly. very narrow and long fairways are what most par 4's consist of on this course. overall it is a decent course to play.
Amazing greens
Great course, wonderful stafff. Can always find great people to play with. Still brown in fairways at the moment though. Stay below the pin..
Great Value...
The front nine is forgiving for loose tee shots. It’s possible to score from the ruff. The greens are perfect and very fast. You don’t want to be above the pin though. The back nine is more demanding. You have to hit the fairways or it’s OB. Fun holes on the back that will challenge any handicap. Pace of play is a perfect 3 to 3.5 hours. The staff is friendly and the maintenance crew treats the course like it’s their back yard. Great value for your time and money...
Greens were unpredictable from hole to hole. Seemed some were faster then others.
Fast greens
It was a busy day here today but Mike was keeping things rolling at the first tee.
The greens are very nice. A bit fast with some good bite. We have had some frost and cold nights so the fairways are a bit brown.
It was still a great day to be on the course.
