Fun!
Great course with a few challenging holes. Driving range uses artificial turf which I don't like but otherwise is a fun place to spend 4 hrs.
Much Improved Conditions.
If you haven't played here in a while, you are in for a nice surprise. After playing today, I called my buddies and we are playing here this weekend. The nice thing for me is that I don't have to drive far this weekend to play golf. Most of the time, I have to drive up to 35 miles away to play golf with my buddies.
The Greens are in great shape, the Sand is consistent to high end courses, the tee boxes and fairways are much improved. Golf Carts are new as well. Clubhouse staff is very friendly. We didn't wait much at any tee - 9 and 10 had a little wait. Food at the turn was tasty, fast and affordable. Off the fairways can be sandy or rough, but getting it back into play is not an issue. I enjoy the size of the fairways - you need more precision and less bomber mentality. But, there are fairways that are generous as well.
I will be playing here more often. The old saying, if you can score at Azusa Greens, you can score anywhere, still holds true. The good news is that the conditions are better than ever.
Unable to play all 18!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I booked my T-times through Golfnow, upon arriving @ the course I was informed that we would not be able to complete the course because of maintenance being performed on the course. Golfnow did not state of any repairs @ the course or any other reason why we would not be able to complete our round!!!!! The course would not rebook our t-times or make any other accommodations to keep us satisfied. I will never return to course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great value
Great conditions for the value. Greens tricky. Excellent service in the shop and cafe,
The course needs attention
Staff not friendly. :-(
Never welcome costumers like other golf courses.
We try to be at least 10 min early for an easy smooth check in and they always make us wait till the exact T-time to check in.
Great for non-avid golfers, nice greens
Turf on tee boxes and fairways have a lot of room for improvement, but for the fees, hard to beat. The greens are in great condition so it's hard to understand why the rest isn't in better shape. The fairways leave plenty of room for a beginners errant shots.
A good starting course.
The staff was very friendly and the pace of play was very good. It got a little slow on the Back nine and one group was a hole out of position.
The greens were in excellent condition and rolling true.
Fairways were dry, firm and in many places in poor condtion.
The tees were chewed up from use but probably normal for a public course at this level.
Nice greens
This course is in much better shape than it was a year ago. They are continually doing work to improve the conditions. The greens are really nice. The fairways are still very rough in some spots.
Good facility for location and price.
Azusa Greens is a good golf/practice facilty. Their practice area & driving range is very good. The golf coures is average. Fairways are what you expect for a municipal golf course. The best thing about Azusa Greens is their GREENS (extremely well kept). I've been going to Azusa Greens for years and I will say their staff and the overall facility is very pleasant & professional. If you are looking to work on your golf game, I would recommend Azusa Greens.
nice greens
Management has done a great job maintaining the greens
Beautifull backdrop scenery
this course is wide open but you better hit straight
the course and view of the mountains is great.next time i will play with some other friends and i know they will like the course.
Getting better all the time
New money being invested in bringing the course back to premium levels. Still a really good course. Facilities are excellent. Good short-game practice area with separate putting green and chipping green, a 60-yard pitching area sharing a green with the sand bunker green. Driving range with grass tees on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (mats Monday-Thursday). Come play now while it's still an undiscovered treasure.
You get what you pay for, which was OK...
I drove out the Azusa Greens since there was a Hot Deal twilight tee time which made this course appealing to try for the first time. Upon arriving the clubhouse looked pretty nice from the exterior, obviously new construction which was encouraging. The staff was cordial and gave some advice on a few holes before teeing off. The course itself was patchy in some areas, exposed dirt and wood chips appeared on most of the holes because of the regulations on watering in the LA area. Otherwise, this track was decent at best- it played a little short for my liking but for others it may suite just fine. Most of the holes were fairly similar, there wasn't much excitement in the configuration of the layout i.e. straight shots, tiny doglegs etc. The pace was a bit slow because of the time of day I played. Having said this, I can see the potential for weekend warriors and casual players if this course was well maintained. I seemed as though my ball was bouncing on the greens and therefore putts just wouldn't drop. If you live in the area and are looking for a cheap round than go for it. But at least for me, I won't be heading back anytime soon when I can play longer length and well-maintained courses in other locations.
Not the best value in LA
Course is all jacked. Dirt patches up to the greens. The rough area consists of dirt. Hit the ball on the fairway or its over. The greens have huge lines cut into them. Just boo boo. For the money they charge it should be much nicer.
