Solid
Good value. I scored a 104 which was good for me
Azusa Greens Good Job
Greens keepers doing great job
Tee boxes in good shape too
Overall good experience
Course in bad shape
This course is back to its old habits " Azusa Browns" is more apt. Hitting from the fairways is like rock most of the time. The greens used to be ok but they are just horrible now with holes and divots all around. They have a real bad habit here of pulling the pins before it gets dark and using a rake as the flag! Very annoying so don't play twilight. Won't be back anytime soon.
The course was nice
I was played at this course after 5 years later.'
But the course didnt renovated or changed anything even though eclectric carts.
Too much old cards and rough fairway, lots of pots on turf and green side area, soil ground.
But staff was excellent and kind very well.
The course was not bed for moderate players.
Bad Course Condition
no grass. good for beginners.
First Time
Never played here before. It was surprisingly one of the best courses I've played in do far.
Azusa Greens
Been playing here every weekend (no exaggeration) since 2011. It's midpoint for me and my golf buddies. Everything is fine here. Bar ladies are super nice and friendly.
The one issue I have is with the condescending older white gentleman at check in. To the younger golfers he's incredibly rude. He never even responds and says good morning. He treats you like you should be thanking him for the right to play here.
The quality of the grass and fairways of this course has dropped dramatically. I figure it's the water restriction but with that being said the service could at least make up for it.
Poor conditions
I haven't played Azusa in about a year. Totally Inot satisfied with course conditions. Tee boxes long grass with lots of crab grass, many patches of crab grass on fairways, off fairways unable to hit out due to either pine needles, crab grass or just dirt. Greens a lot bumps, crab grass and dead patches.
Won't be going back anytime soon
treated extremely rude by staff
Apparently they have special rules for practicing at there facilities based on unpublished rules. Staff was very rude and insisted on harassment even after they realized I was in right.
Pleasantly Surprised!
I grew up right on this golf course, but never played it. I didn't take up golf until well into adult life. I was a bit timid after reading the reviews, but pulled the trigger anyways. The greens were in great shape! Not as fast as I would like, but thats ok, as every green sloped heavily back to front. I didnt have a flat putt all day! The fairways were not bad at all, but the tee boxes could use some work.
The reason for my low rating on pace of play may be a bit unfair, as it was Memorial Day.
Average. Nothing special
The course is in a nice setting against the foothills. The fairways are fairly skinny. Greens and tee boxes have been in pretty good shape. Bunkers need some love as well as a few fairways. $39 with cart wasn't a bad price. I would golf here again for a simple practice round with friends or for mid iron practice. Driving range is basic. Good only for a warm up. The snack at has good food options but is not fast. Check the menu out ahead of time and call ahead around the 7th hole (seriously, I do). They are very slow and the 2 times I walked up the friendly lady has messed up my order. Really nothing bad to say. Just a decent price for a decent course. Like i said Inexpensive place for a practice round.
Great course to work on your game!
Great deal! Only a couple rough fairways but overall good conditions and good greens!
Much better than before
We used to frequent this course a lot about 5 years ago. Then they changed owners and the course went down the tubes. Since maybe Jan 2013, the old owners are back and have invested money in making the course good again. We booked a round and the course was in very good condition. Greens were nice and smooth but the tee boxes need to be leveled.
This course would be good for a senior player
The course needs to have more maintenance work done especially on the fairways, lots of holes requiring a draw swing. Greens were in good condition. There is a driving range with mats & they have a practice area for chipping & are currently building a sand strap practice area.
Great deal
Great price and the course was in nice condition with fast greens!
Fun simple course with some protected greens
Greens are in great shape, but unfortunately the City water regulations prevent the course from being fully watered, which means some dry fairway sections with exposed gravel...yikes..
Another good round and score.
A buddy of mine and I decided to play here instead of El Prado this weekend. We got on at 3pm. - first twilight. The front nine was very slow since a lot of golfers had the same idea and we are a fast twosome. We still managed and the time wasn't all that bad. On the turn we were able to join up with another twosome and flew through the back nine - the flow was much better. My buddy and I played the front again in less than an hour and 15 min. 27 holes. If I counted the back nine and the 2nd front nine - six over. 27 holes in 12 over is not bad (it helps to have a birdie or two). We were both happy about Azusa Greens' conditions, the staff was very friendly, and the gas and time savings of not driving to Chino on the holiday weekend was another 'plus'. This place is a good value for the money. If you are expecting country club pristine conditions, save the effort and head over to Trump National (great course); if you are looking for a nice round of golf on a much improved course with nice greens and bunkers, give it a try. Another buddy is sold on this place.
Staff in pro shop leaves alot to be desired
Didn't catch either mans name but there are two very dismissive individuals at this courses pro shop. I am a semi regular there and the one guy acts like hes never seen me before almost as if im bothering him to pay to play. Earlier in the same week an old mans club was about to tee off for a twilight tourney. I was at the time speaking to the second guy. As soon as some of the senior citizens walked in, he immediately called all of them by name and completely blew me off, guess he didnt need my money that bad that day because I left. The course itself is in moderate shape you can normally get out and have a quick round when theres not a tourney going on.
No Crowds !!
The course was in MUCH better condition then when we played it several months ago. Greens were OUTSTANDING !! The homes along the fairways/course were in pretty sad shape. It often felt like we were golfing in a third world country.
