Getting through the gate
Rumor has it, our annual ($35) ID pass ,which allows us to breeze through the gate security, won't be renewed. But this course still warrants the security delay at the price. This time out the greens were the best I've seen them, though still not very fast. And they did a nice job rehabilitating most of the sand traps, which had gotten pretty funky with weeds, etc.
Great price saved the day
You really need to allow the hour for processing through security GolfNow suggested. It took all of that time for us. Because of the huge amount of rain the area had received the course was very wet and poorly maintained. Greens were passable ,fairways like a field! Also because of conditions very few people were out so pace of play was great . It was on,y good because of the great deal we got on GolfNow .
Nice course
WET !!! A lot of the fairways hold water for a long time. Soggy. Nice course though.
In good shape overall.
Great deal for the money. The wind was howling but overall a good experience. The head pro Ken is always very welcoming and friendly.
beautiful day
We have played this course a couple of times. Can't beat the price! I like the course but my husband not so much! could be I had the better score!
Coyote run
Fun course had good time some very difficult shots took a long time to get on base clearance but was fun and worth the money
Great for the price
I played for $5 bucks. Back 9 Germans were in much better shape. Overall, nice course and great for the value!
Great Value
A fun course to play. A great course layout with many challenging approach shots, dog legs, and long par 4s. Sand traps clearly need some work, as well as the tee boxes and fairways (but it is winter). Greens are well maintained and putt true. For the money a great value. Staff very, very friendly and helpful for sure.
Fun views of nature and airplanes
This course is basically flat making it an easy course to walk, if you are so inclined. It is maintained reasonable well under the current economic climate. It is a nature preserve, so wildlife is pretty abundant and fun to watch and listen to. It is an Air Base, during the week you watch jets, U2's, spy planes, etc. doing touch and goes. If you love planes, as I do, you will love this bonus feature. Really nice personnel and course marshals. Very friendly to ladies so makes our guys grumble a bit sometimes but it is one of our favorite courses to play.
Nature maybe too much
The course had some nice holes, but the squirrels and gofers were everywhere. Also branches, leaves, and dirt mounds were in the fairways.
I loved the open views, and quietness. It was not crowded and every one was very nice.
Keep it straight
First time playing this course. First thing, you have to get there early because you have to be brought into the course being as it is on an Air Base. Course was in pretty good shape, sand traps are going to be redone. Greens were in very good shape, some people just don't repair their divots for some reason so I did it for them. Fairways were in good shape and you had to be accurate (lots of trees) as some of the fairways are narrow and being a first time player it was difficult to know where to hit on a few of the holes. A few very difficult pin placements, lost 2 strokes on good shots but the pins were as I said difficult. As you can see the pace of play was fast, not a lot of players out today and it was a beautiful day, sun came out and the coats came off. I liked the course and I will play it again.
This course is awesome! Great fairway and excellent but challenging greens.
This is a great golf course for someone who wants to play, have fun and relax. It is in the middle of Air Force base, a lot of space for wide fairway, it is not limited space nor sorrounded by houses. I would like to compare this course to fall river mills golf course. Its awesome, worth driving for 2 hours. Highly recommended!
The first time I played this course, i didn't feel rushed. No one was playing ahead of us, nor playing behind us. We had all the time to play. It feels like the golf course was ours.
Takes a while to get on base
I really enjoy the laid back atmosphere of coyote run. Staff is super friendly and the green fees are very reasonable. We took about twenty people to get in and unfortunately I did not understand the process so it took us over an hour to get on the base. Call the pro shop to figure out the process.
needs some TLC
A OLD SCHOOL COURSE WITH SOME PRETTY TOUGH HOLES ! WHATEVER YODO DONT PLAY IT FROM THE TIPS!
Enjoyable course
Had a good time playing, got a little crowded at one point. Even with small waits at a couple tees it was still well worth it.
amazing course for the money.
Some holes are basic with a few very challenging ones thrown in. certainly not a boring course.
Narrow and tree line farways that offer little roll on drives.
For an average driver distance (230-240) be prepared to offer up extra shots to being stumped by trees unless you are basically straight off the tee with above average FIR. Fairways are more narrow than they seem with additional constraints being applied by trees that push into the fairways and block you out from a clean shot to the green. Ability to shape your shots will help considerably on this course. Two of the par 3's are almost blocked out from a straight shot from the tee, and depending on pin placement (which is most often on the blocked side) you will be shut off from a pin shot. Wind is a considerable factor as this area is prone to higher winds than the surrounding area which lengthens the course. Oh, be prepared to lose some balls as this course has a habit of gobbling them up due to the trees, winds, and high weeds ON BOTH SIDES OF NARROW FAIRWAYS!! Staff is very friendly. The course operates on a shoe string budget which shows in some maintenance areas, mainly tee boxes, crab grass on fairways and greens, and sand traps. For your average and even slightly longer hitter this course is a challenge from the white and blue tees. The sound of golf balls bouncing off and through trees is the norm on this course!!
Front nine was closed – played the back only – need some love and water
What a trip, need to go through security to get onto Beale Air Force Base, and get escorted to the golf club by one of the course employees. Definitely an old, classic course in the middle of a huge AFB, with the latest "spy" planes doing touch-and-go practice right over your head. Some really cool holes, challenging – but definitely in need of more water and personal attention (wait till the rains come). Greens were tragically slow, but they were punching the next day.
Hey, for $5 each – it was a great time
A pain from the beginning
Course is on Beale Air Force Base. Golfnow instructions say stop at "gate" and call course to get someone to sign you in. Well Beale has FIVE gates and course guy couldn't find us for over an hour!! Then, while escorting us to course, he stops and says he has another errand and leaves us to find course by ourselves!! Got to course building to find pro shop around the back and not easy to find. Guy says "it's wide open!" and we found a five some on the first hole in super slow mode!! We had to jump ahead and then on # 4 found pair of couples that were very angry we wanted to play thru!! 35 MPH winds blew all day and sent shots out into the prarie grass every hole. No yardage markers, greens patchy and very slow, no food or beverage service. Just a terrible day.
great value for the money
good for long ballers, par 3 and 4's were long but the course was fun to play and the greens were in good shape. only drawback is you have to wait for a escort at the front gate! make sure you have a clean record.
