No warning about aeration
I went to the course and encountered aeration on the first and every green following. There was no advanced warning about the green's condition or I would not have gone. I was quite disappointed.
Below average
course was in bad condition: greens had more sand than the traps. Fairways dead. Cart paths flooded and cracked.
Pace of play was quick.
Must play again.
The West Course was a short but challenging layout. It's a classic shot-makers' layout. Unfortunately, there was a heavy downpour prior to my round so the conditions were not the best. But it's a fun course to play. The staff was very friendly and informative. I would love to play this track again under better conditions.
Everything expected from a Private Course
It was a great layout, and the course was in great condition considering this time of year and the recent weather. It is a private course, so we found ourselves waiting for the "pros" in front of us and had to skip a hole to finish before Christmas. Very quiet and peaceful, which was exactly what I was looking for on my Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend the course to others!
Hidden gem
There is no course around the area with better conditions. The bent grass greens are rolling absolutely perfect and true. The tee boxes and fairways are incredible. Although the course is only 6100 yards, it is extremely challenging and fun to play. It is very secluded and not around tons of houses so the atmosphere while out there is great. Would not miss the opportunity to play this track.
Looks like the staff is letting it go
I was shocked at how much the course has changed from the summer. Bunkers looked like they had not been raked in weeks, greens looked like they were getting away from the staff, attention to detail is just not there. I called before my tee time to see if there was a delay and the guy working the proshop said that they were behind, but should be caught up before my time. When I got to the course I was told that they were 20 mins behind. I hit some balls made some putts and went to the proshop to get something to eat at my scheduled time thinking I had 20 mins before I had to be ready. As soon as I ordered my sandwich the proshop guy came in and acted like I was causing him an inconvenience b/c he couldn't find me and it was my time to tee off. Then I had to ask for my food to go, rush down to the tee box and tee off so that I didn't lose my spot. Overall I was less than impressed with the staff and maintenance of the course.
Staff seemed to have no clue as to what was going on. I will not be back and I will not recommend it to a friend or enemy.
A Neighborhood Course designed to sell Real Estate in the 1990's
A Neighborhood Course designed to sell Real Estate in the 1990's, it winds along narrow tracts not suited to build houses. Well maintained, but evidently not enough land was purchased to fulfill course's potential. The relatively short length doesn't bother me, as I usually play tees at about 6k anyway; it's the fairways and landing areas contrived to fit available spaces that I did not enjoy. Staff was exceptionally friendly and worked to keep a crowded field moving. Amenities were average and OK, but this club recently merged with another, more highly respected course, and they seem to be trading on the better course's reputation for pricing. Not worth the fees I paid, which were supposedly 60% discounted.
very short, cofusing layout
If you play on a busy day you could easily get hit by wayward shots. Worse layout I ever saw. Short course. Don't know how they ever made it as a private course.
Bad design, okay condition, rude staff
Not very well thought out course design and cart paths to get to the holes. Staff was rude. Staff did not let us play a 2-some even though this is what we bought on golf now and there was barely anyone else on the course. Also we were told we could not bring an outside cooler; this is understandable however there was absolutely no cart girls or places to purchase drinks. Course is a private course that needs public money but does not treat public well.
Most public courses are in better maintained
I would not recommend this course to anyone for the following reasons- play was very slow 4.5 hours for a Sunday afternoon, you could tell they added holes 5-13 because they were not well designed, multiple greens and many of the areas adjacent to the fairways need replacement and grass planted, and lastly this course was not worth the price I paid Golfnow and AAC.
I enjoyed this course, but...
#1. There is no driving range. Instead, they have a net. A net? Come on...
#2. The attendant said the turn is no where near the club house, but that there were vending machines between 9 and 10. Yes, there were, but he failed to mention they were out of order. Hungry, I was and disappointed too.
The course was fun to play. I enjoyed my round and comfortably got around taking a less aggressive approach. There were a few holes where you could let 'er rip and get rewarded and you'll figure out which those are.
All in all, it was fun, but having a choice of places to play with better practice facilities, this will not be my first choice next time.
Good course for seniors
The greens are in great shape for this time of year. The course is challenging with some narrow fairways and hole placement. The fairways are in very good condition.
This is a very good course for any age, but especially for Seniors. The distance from the blue tees is just about right for this 63 year old.
Overall, a very good experience every time I play this course.
P.s. Marshall's are courteous, helpful, and know the game of golf!
Beautiful course, very nice layout
Well marked, well maintained, and NO issues except that you cannot wear cargo pants or cargo shorts. The Proshop people were okay except they did not really smile when smiled at... Course played well. A couple short par-3's (one about 100 yds), a few well done par-5's. Overall this will be one of my favorite courses to play in the future when the price is not full fare.
Narrow but fun.
The course was nice and fun to play. A little narrow at times and the fairways were a little on the shaggy side but all in all a good course. No pressure pace of play. I wish they had a driving range but hey, that is what the first hole is for. I would like to go back in the spring to see it at its best.
Fun to play. Short course.
Narrow, but not ridiculously narrow. A couple of tricked up holes, go with someone who's played there before, to get good directions. I almost drove the green, twice, from the back tees, one eagle. Greens are small, but knothing I haven't played on before, and rolled true. Staff was great and so was the food.
Nice Course in the Fall!
We enjoyed AAC very much! It was shorter than most but tight! Greens, traps, and fairways were excellent condition! We will be going back!
Short but tight golf course
This course is a short and tight test of golf. The greens were not that great as they were aerated recently. Only a few times available to the public, it's a private club most days. I enjoy playing the course when trying to get my game in shape and straighten out my shots. Not long by any means as they basically crammed a golf course in amongst a sub division. No driving range available is the biggest drawback. Hitting into a net is not really gonna help you so lack of a practice facility is a hinderance. Good test of golf and you don't have to be a long hitter to play and enjoy the course.
Its a very nice course.
very nice course. was only in town for a few days and wanted to check out a few tracks. good track, nice people, good facility, and a nice lunch afterwards. everything was reasonably priced. would definitely recommend this course to someone.
