Good course condition except the greens
I'm guessing the greens were punched a couple of weeks ago but they were baked out a lot more than expected so the remaining bumps and coarse sand were magnified.
Disappointing Response to Vehicle Damage
While I have previously enjoyed golfing at Birch Hills Golf Course without any issues, I feel compelled to share a recent negative experience regarding how they handled an incident where my vehicle was damaged by an errant golf ball from their course.
As I was driving on Birch Street, a public road adjacent to the golf course, a golf ball flew between the trees and struck the front of my vehicle. I immediately reported the incident to the course staff, hoping for a responsible resolution. Nelly, a staff member, informed me that their course policy was to attempt to locate the responsible golfer. Despite their efforts, including a search by the course marshal, they were unable to identify the responsible party.
When I inquired about direct compensation for the damages, I was met with a surprising refusal. Nelly claimed an uncited "California law", stating that the golfer alone was 100% responsible and that the golf course bore no liability. Furthermore, they denied carrying any relevant insurance and suggested that covering the damages myself wouldn’t be too costly, essentially leaving me to deal with the aftermath on my own.
This experience has been deeply disappointing. Instead of acknowledging the incident and offering fair assistance or compensation, Birch Hills Golf Course chose to deny any responsibility. This lack of accountability and professionalism for someone affected by their operations has led me to decide that I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.
For those who value their property and seek to support businesses with a sense of moral responsibility, I recommend looking for another golf course. An establishment’s character is revealed not just by the services it provides, but also by how it supports the community around it by responding to unforeseen incidents.
Bad Deal!
Course was in average shape...not the greatest...lots of divots left. Worst part was it was packed!!! Every hole we had to wait. After 10 holes and 3 hours, we decided to leave. Waste of money. And the carts are now $14. We paid $28 for our cart. No more Birch Hills.
Birch Hills Review
We play here regularly and always find this course a great value to get in some good practice ion a reasonable amount of time!
Birch hills
What really ticked me off that you wanted to charge $14.50 each to share a cart, that’s a ripoff
$14.50 is ok per cart
Also why is it $10 one day and a different amount the next day?
I won’t be back!!!
Good value for the money
Course played slow for a short yardage course. Took about 4 1/2 hours. I enjoy playing the course to practice my short game. Will definitely be back , probably not on a Sunday afternoon again.
Always fun - but the driving range is flooded
Such a lovely short 18, but the driving range is so often flooded
Solid short game course
Nice course, has a few Par 4's, not worth using a driver. It's a solid course for iron play.
Best value for your money
Using GOLF NOW YOU CAN FIND GREAT DEALS,NO TOO SHORT ,NO TOO BIG PERFECT FOR ADVANCE PLAYERS.
The course is good but too busy
It was second time play golf here.
I’m living in Brea. I tried to make reservation several times for morning tee time but there is no open spot in the morning. Every time I searched tee time, there is no available tee time.
So, I played after 1pm with my family. But the play was so delayed. We ended up at 5:30 pm.
It became too dark to play golf.
