Great Value
This course could use some work, but you can't beat it for the price. There's very few people on the course and at $3.00 a round on GolfNows Hot Deals, there's no better value in the area. Where else can you play 9 holes for less than the cost of a beer?
Needs haelp
The first green told the story - mostly weeds and sand some dirt. Every hole needed water and grass. Could be a good course with water and money.
Good 9 hole track
Course is improving with some rain. Some challenging holes and glad that you can hit driver on a few holes.
Great fun for the money.
Very friendly staff.
The course had great atmosphere, views and rolling hills
I enjoyed the day and the staff was very friendly. I would play there again.
good practice course
if you need a place to practice your shots go here. It's not pebble beach so don't expect plush fairways and manicured greens.
I bring my sons so they can practice their game and Mark the owner only charges $5 for the kids. They can break out their drivers on 4 or 5 holes and practice their short game on the other holes.
If you are looking to just go out and have a fun round without great expectations of a country club course then go here.
There's always great deals on golf now for this place too.
OK for a place to practice
Expect every shot will be from an unlevel surface. This short course is built on very steep and hilly property, making for challenging shot making. Even though it is a short course it is difficult to walk.
Great Walking Course
This is the most laid back golf course I've ever been to. Camino Heights is is a great course if you are local to the Placerville area or passing through. The owners and members are stellar people, and the course provides a good challenge for a short 9 holes with zero bunkers. Great views looking over webber creek to the Southwest make for an amazing sunset. And that southern exposure has kept the course healthy this fall. The greens are getting better each week!
DON'T BOTHER
Course is in bad shape. Was tolerable in the spring, but summer and drought have taken toll. Long, poor quality grass where there's not dirt, small greens that are soggy (front holes) on dirt showing (on back) A shame. Beautiful setting and nice layout, but just too rough. A slow men's club starting on 1, 3 and 9 didn't help. $8 for a big bucket, a nice range and great practice area across the street is a better value than this $12 walk. Today at 2:00 I could have played Ap
Fun Day
I wanted to try this course because it's almost across the road from Apple Mountain. I also wanted a 9 hole because I was walking for the first time.
I'm a nineteen handicap and shot seven over. I enjoyed myself and played 18. Due to the drought they had to reduce water usage and it's had an effect on conditions
It's a fun place to play, not overly hard but not easy either. The people are very friendly and actually want you there. The snobs don't go there. It cost me ten bucks for nine and fourteen for eighteen. I'm going back often.
Great value for the money
Very friendly staff, short but challenging with elevation changes on all holes. Course is feeling the effects of the drought, but that's to be expected . A lot of fun, good workout if you walk it, and a great value for the money !
9 holes is enough
hey was super cheap....and I was hitting the ball.....it could be worse if I was working....don't expect much that's the bottom line....needs serious work but a couple of the par 3's where pretty nice.
Great value & greens excellent
Staff is very friendly, grounds workers courteous, views are beautiful, greens are excellent and bang for you buck is excellent
Grunge Golf
Beat to death course. Backyard swimming pool sized greens full of stickers needing weeding, reseed and a roll or two. Fairways are long grass, clumpy grass full of bad lies, or dirt. It's dart throwing from tees that mostly aren't level. Got a weekend golf now $5 rate so I endorse this course once for the experience, but you'll have to weigh it versus a bucket of balls at the driving range. Very, very nice staff..
this course is a very enjoyable challenge
to play ,bogey golf on this course, you need to have your most accurate shots working for you, if you tend to be a grumpy player, I would stay away
Course was in bad shape.
Too rough on the fairways. Dirt paths. Felt like we were playing on a farm and cow pasture. The rate was great but the course is in too poor of conditions.
Great place to take the wife!
I've played since I was 7 so for me this a 9 iron and putter play. I've been married 24 years and my wife hates big popular spots where people are on your rear all day as she is not a golfer, but she does enjoy playing in a "non stress environment" and she hit 2 greens here and played close to me all day. So yeah for a hubby and wife outing it's a great place. They could use a whole lot of "seeding" through out so you can hit off grass and not dirt, but we paid 8.00 for 2 including a cart so how can ya complain when 2 buckets of balls at a driving range is more costly (we played 9 holes in an hour and 15) and just what the wifey likes. Had a great day and the wife likes this type of golf so how can ya lose on that deal!
The manager is extremely nice and accommodating.
This area has been hit hard by very dry conditions. It is good in that you get a very good roll of the ball. But it does cause a lot of areas that have no grass. The view was absolutely great. It is walkable.
