Regulation at Marine Memorial Golf Course

Very enjoyable course. Wide fairways and bunkered greens. Greens were quick. Course was in great condition. Course is on Camp Pendleton.. use the Vandergrift Entrance to base. Definitely will play this course again.

I can't believe I played this course for $15. Great layout, very good and fast greens, extraordinary value. It takes a little bit extra effort to get there (base access and a drive) but, trust me, it is well worth the effort. Highly recommend.

Very happy with our first time playing this course, no problems, good pace of play, layout made sense, very enjoyable.

The course is in good shape, especially for the price. The staff is friendly and laid back. The greens rolled great with enough undulating to keep it challenging. Good time.

Nice green fairways with excellent bunkers and greens. Great driving range and putting green. It does get pretty breezy and a few holes play long on the holes going towards the west, but I always enjoy playing here.

Love the golf course. The back nine has a lot of character with its hole layouts. Be back next year to play again!

Was my first time playing this course and it exceed my expectation. A well maintained course with wide open fairways. The greens were really fast though. I don't have any complaints. The staff were friendly also. Looking forward to playing this course again and hoping it's soon.

Played the Blues (6865/72.7/129) with GK Guru's Lotrgolfer48 & Dconnally in 3H, 50M on a beautiful Friday morning. Little wind, not too hot and clear. My 1st time playing here. Really liked the traditional, parkland style Billy Bell layout. After playing numerous modern, tricked up target courses lately, standing on the tee and being able to look directly at the green on numerous par 4 and par 5 holes was a nice change. I liked that most fairways were tree lined with no houses within sight and had traps on both sides. Liked even better that it was usually one trap on each side, not an excessive amount. The greens were well bunkered and the par 3's were challenging, so ++ for the design set on rolling hills. The playing conditions were a pleasant surprise, very good bordering on excellent in every area. The Kikuyu tees were good, mostly lush with few divots. I had no issue finding level lies. The fairways had good coverage and were very good. Almost always had a good lie in the fairway. The rough had good coverage and could be penal because it's mostly Kikuyu. They recently renovated the bunkers, using aerial photography to restore them to the shape they were when the course opened in 1948. Beautiful, fine white sand. They did an excellent job on their renovation, these traps were about as good as you will ever find on a daily fee, public course. The greens were the hi-lite of the course besides the bunkers. Medium fast, smooth, they putted VERY nice. Some of the better greens I have experienced recently, very comparable with RR Lakes, which I played earlier this week. The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. We saw the cart gal numerous times and the burger/fries I had after the round were good in quality/quantity and price. Cart stocked with range balls, water, sleeve of balls and a nice ball marker/divot repair tool when we arrived. Nice grass driving range with plenty of stalls. Organization was top notch all around. I had always heard this was a good course... it was actually very good! If I lived closer, this course would be in my regular rotation. Excellent value based on the playing conditions and the price. Definitely recommended.

This course is on the Marine Corps base at Camp Pendleton. It's a little hard to get in to, showing driver's license, proof of insurance and they have armed sentrys. Obey the speed limit, they aren't fooling around. But once there, the course is in great shape, not too busy, no water to speak of, but plenty of trees and Kikuyu grass. Lots of bunkers. Also, on almost every hole, they have a plaque of a memorial to a war or conflict. This is, after all, on a base. Our favorite is #12, because my friend's dad fought in the Chosin Reservoir in Korea. They have a lunch counter just past the golf shop with pretty good food and reasonable prices.

We were having a great time and the pace of play was very good until the 10th hole and it appeared that people were starting on the 10th hole, as the couple that were then in front of us and delaying play were only parking and going in to pay as we left to t off on the number one T. So how did they end up in front of us?? They did not pass us and we did not stop for anything.
Yet, there they were in front which decreased play time considerably. BAD!

Doesn't come much better than this for the money it's a very very tough Golf Course but it does reward you for a good shot penalize you for a bad one

I am a novice golfer and love this course, it challenges me to play better and work on my drives. the greens are in excellent condition and the fairways are immaculate.
The pro shop staff is always friendly and helpful.

This is a well maintained golf course with some challenging holes. Seniors should play the gold tees. The marines can be very proud of this golf course.
Food prices are very reasonable and staff is friendly.
