Fun track
Pays to be straight as many fairways are tree lined. A relatively short course at about 5600 yards. Beautiful setting and course in good shape except a few areas where they may have broken water pipes.
Staff friendly and we played in under 4 hrs.
Started late
There was a bottleneck on the 2pm start time, with 3 parties at the #1 tee at the same time. Need a course marshall at #1 to ensure consistent flow. We started 15 minutes late.
Uneven Greens
Greens had been cut for at least 15 days but were healing unevenly. Very difficult to guage distance.
The worst part was that the cups had not been changed in along time and almost every green our 4some had a ball go down into the cup and come back up and roll out. We learned not to trust any greens.
Room For Improvement
Great scenic views and lots of potential. I grew up playing here and was disappointed to see how poor the conditions have become. The course was super unkempt beyond just the water drainage issues that they inevitably face. But probably the most disappointing part is spending the green fees we did for a course that’s severely lacking quality. There are 5-10 courses in the surrounding area including the tri-valley that are more affordable, with better upkeep, have better amenities (such as concession cart). I would love to update my review when their prices are fair or they improve the course.
No Fairways
This was cheap on golfnow since it included a cart, however, the fairways were not cut and everything was like the rough.
Also, the greens are sanded
if you just want to get out to hit your woods and irons and have only 4 hours, you can play here. But if you want to play on good course conditions, I highly suggest to play elsewhere.
My complaint is not about the course itself. It's no secret it does not drain well in the winter. My complaint is about the old man working the pro shop. The course was cart path only the day we played. No problem, till we finish 17. We drive along the fairway at 18 to an alternat tee area as EVERYONE in front of us did. We then saw the old guy walk right up the 18th fairway the commence berating us for parking next to the tee area and not going through the maintenance yard. As he is doing this the group behind us does the same exact thing as we did. I apologized to the old guy and explained that there is no signage telling us to drive through the maintenance yard and that he should address his anger to their lack of direction. He would not hear any of this or accept out apology but continue to yell.
We have no problem following the rules, but without direction or signage even just a simple arrow, what more could we do. I certainly don't need someone yelling at me then not be willing to go look at their own lack of direction.
they should provide info that it is cart path only, greens are recently aerated and fairways are extremely wet
At some point course should notify folks that is cart path only, aerated and fairways are too wet to mow and too wet to walk.
Course was almost non-playable
Because of the recent rains, the course does not dry out or drain very well, a lot of standing water on the fairways that really slowed play! It took almost 6 hours on the front 9, and that was enough for me!
Course was unplayable!
I have played this course a number of times now, because the layout is very good, and always a good rate on Tee Off website! Due to the conditions of the course this day, I was surprised they were letting golfers play! I stopped after 9 holes due to standing water on just about every fairway(lost 3.balls in fairway in the nine holes!)
Not playable
Water puddles, mini lakes on the fairways not at all playable. Barely finished 8 holes.
Old man at Pro-shop check-in TORRIBLE
Rude and disgruntled front desk staff. Old man glasses, stashe you know who you are. Turning customers away. Horrific course conditions not maintained. Lazy staff decided to change course layout make things worse for patrons so they have to do less work. Don’t mind paying and playing during wet season but this course is ajoke
Very disappointed
Fairways were full of water and all the Par5's were cut down to Par3's/
I sent an email to the Managment and still after 2 weeks no response.
Wet Conditions
Normally this is an average course but when I played the course was extremely wet, albeit due to heavy rain from prior week. This course is better played during the hotter months. On a side note one the employees accused me of using my own balls on the range, of which I wasn’t of course. When I showed him the range balls that I purchased from the course he did not even apologize. This made it a bad start to the day and round.
Course was cut short with all par 5s to par 3s
Normally course plays ok but this time it had all par5s coming t par3s, which made the course even shorter. Although glad it was open after recent heavy rain
Redwood Canyon
RC is a truly fun place to play. Currently there is a lot of water running in the creeks. However below flood run off. The flat areas are mucky but this is because it’s winter time. Duh!! Come out and play. RC. Please keep them going. I believe they are doing a wonderful job re establishing
The course. The greens are perfectly cut. The Blue tee box is back at original 9 hole. Expanded 18 hole tee length. 2 new creek bridges.
If you do not want to play. It’s ok. Come visit the bar after a nice hike or your wedding there.
