I live about a 30 minute drive from Fresno and have played Pheasant Run at least 50 times. The greens are almost always in great condition and the course in general is above average. Do your homework on pricing and you can get a low cost round. The 18th hole par 5 gives you a risk/reward shot depending on your drive. Good food as well... It is definitely worth playing!
Great
Course was awesome staff was great the layout of the course is challenging
The course isa challenging, fun course to play.
Course layout is challenging but fair. Lots of water. The clubhouse/ restaurant/bar was employees were friendly and professional. I will not only recommend the course, but will be back to play soon.

Pleasant place to play. The golf shop staff is very friendly. The course is challenging because of the length of the par 4's. The fairways are very tight and it appears that the locals don't use the golf paths and drive around the greens which if you are off a little on a shot it makes you have to chip off dirt.
Par 73
Love this course, would like to see the 14th hole play as a par 5. Almost unreachable in regulation by most players
2-17-18
Greens showed no signs of the recent work and were rolling true and fast.
Most of the course is starting to show signs of green breaking out but is still in the patchy phase of spring emergence.
Great Track but conditions have slid south
Pheasant Run is one of my favorite courses in the valley. Unfortunately the conditions are below standard right now.
Pheasant run is a fun track full of water hazards. 13 of the holes have water in play(ish) with an island green on the par 5 18th. The greens had recently been sanded (maybe a couple weeks ago). No big deal. If you want excellent conditions then you have to be willing to deal with some maintenance from time to time. The greens are usually the strong point of the course. They are fairly large and most are two tiered but nothing too drastic. they are known to roll smooth and fast.
Pheasant Run is all about taking advantage of the Par 3's & 5's and surviving the par 4's which are all very long.
Sand traps are Much Much improved. I was in 4 bunkers today and all were excellent to play out of. Fairways were a dissapointment. A mix of thin; dormant, dead, and dirt. Worst I've ever seen here.
Tee boxes were below average but tolerable. Rough is non existent. After the fairway you get hard backed dirt with a few trees here and there. Usually pretty easy to play out of and it makes the driving distance look good when you get an extra 40+ yards of roll. Like my 298 yd drive. (Carry 230 & roll 68) Lol.
Hopefully they get the conditions under control soon to make this a solid go to track when in the valley or traveling up/down Hwy 99
Lots of Water
The course in in very good shape. Like many of the courses in the Valley, I think they turned off the sprinklers some time ago. The ground is hard and the ball travels a long distance.
Very much enjoyed the round and would highly recommend the course to anyone.,
Great value with challenges
True and fast greens, back nine some long par 4’s for a 15 handicapper, par is great on any hole. Very nice course, freindly staff, recommend for anyone who likes challenging golf.
Not any fun especially for seniors, women or juniors as extremely long
Pheasant Run GC's shortest set of tees measures out over 5800 yards with a slope of 128 for women.
This makes the course very difficult for the average golfer and extremely difficult for srs.,jrs, and women.
In comparison, Dragonfly just down the road has 7 sets of tees starting at 4500 yards. The 2 times we played it , we also noticed everyone was playing the forward tees. NCGA along with Jack Nicholas's play it forward
initiative endorses have multiple tee boxes so players can select tee boxes which match up with their driving distance and skill level. This in turn attracts people to golf. When I commented this to the pro shop, their smart retort was "what is the course too long for your wife" as if we should be playing elsewhere. Guess what, we will play elsewhere and since I was scouting for our large RV group to come down, we`ll also make it a point not to play here as they appear not to like seniors and women.
