can't complain for $6.99 hot deal!
First of all I can't complain for a hot deal special got to play 18 holes with a cart for $6.99 including booking fee.
It was the first time I tried Colton Golf Course A.K.A. Sam Sneed Golf Course. The greens were very well maintained but the rest of the course needs a lot of attention. Fairways are in pretty rough shape and some or most of the roughs are dirt and mud patches. The impression I got was this place looked like a dirt lot and they were "working up" to making it a golf course. I probably will not go there again if I had to pay regular rate which is around $20
Leave the driver in the bag.
I was disappointed when we arrived and I saw 15 par 3 holes and 3 par 4s. I'm a long hitter and enjoy hitting my driver, I only hit driver on one hole. Every other hole was essentially a 7 iron. Fairways were lush and green, rough was averagely maintained & challenging to hit out of. If you find one of the few sand pits on the course it really costs you! The pride of this course was the greens. fantastically maintained and hole locations made putting interesting. We had a dinner to be at at 5 pm so we figured the standard 4 hour 18, booked our tee time at noon & were done by 3:30! Leaving us plenty of time to get where we were going! Overall my friends and I had a blast on this course. I would reccomend it to my other friends but tell them to leave the driver in favor of a 3 or 5 wood. The only thing that ruined the experience for me was that the location provided by the app when i clicked the "Get Directions" option took me 15 minutes away from the actual course location, making me hop back on the freeway. So learn from my mistake and look up course addresses on the course website and DO NOT TRUST the app!
able to use all clubs
Like this field. Alot of par 3. But. A couple of par 4. Was able to pull out the woods. Great people and staff. I love golf
Easy executive course.
Nice driving range and pitch and putt. Need to work on bug control. I suggest a bucket with water to dip towel in to clean clubs. Maintenance workers should be more aware of golfers when they are ready to swing
It is a great course for beginners.
This course is a great short course for beginners. I enjoy this course because it is a little more casual.
this course is good for beginners
this course is for beginners like me. I liked to golf here to learn my short game. also its not that expensive.
this course is very affordable.
I took my Brother-in-law to play here for his very first time. It's a course were we felt comfortable in playing cause of the laid back ambiance and attitude enjoyed ourselves very much.
excellant greens
This course is well maintained the greens are in excellent condition.
Good for beginners/short game practice
I played this course for the second time yesterday, I like it a lot. I have only been playing for about 3 months now and I have fun playing at this course, it is somewhat challenging for me, still learning the game. The greens are slow, so you can pound the ball on putting. The tee boxes are fair and the fairways are "ok". But for the price its perfect! 10-15 bucks during the week, twilight hours, can't really go wrong. and the range is real inexpensive. Great price, ok place. I will be playing here often, since I do live .5 miles away!
Great executive course, looks like thry are upgrading.
I had agreat time at this little executive course. The staff was great, really helpful. It looks as if the superintendent is upgrading the course since the last time I played here, they were upgrading during that round. The fairways are a bit dry and the greens are in good shape. I will be back for sure.
Great Day
This was a perfect course to introduce my son to golf. We had a fantastic time and everyone was patient and friendly. No, it's not pristine, but you simply cannot beat the price! We'll be back!
Let Colton Golf Club Illuminate Your Short Game Weaknesses
I've been wanting to get over to this track for a long time, finally got over there and I have to say i went in with a sort of casual attitude (like it would be and easy 18 holes). I quickly found myself behind the course that and seeing that I need to more time on the ole short game. I got spanked by the place.Colton Golf Club is a great place to work out your Par 3 short game issues. The greens were very, very nice. They are obviously making some changes to the course to make it it even better for a workout. I will be back and plan to make it a regular stop from now on. You could hit your driver on a few holes but I suggest you do like I did and promise myself to leave it in the bag and work the irons and woods all the way around. It'll be good for you. Love Colton.
Convenient course to refine your short game.
I've played several games at Colton Golf Club. It's great to practice your short game. The short course also makes it convenient if you only have about 3 hours to play.
The course is sufficiently maintained and moderate in difficulty if you're a bogie-every hole kind of guy like myself. I enjoy playing the course. You can't beat the $16 GolfNow price of a morning tee time on a Saturday.
Overall, it's a fun short course.
Fast pace of play and conditions are improving gradually.
The course is quick and they are working hard on conditions. The greens and aprons are already showing improvement. Keep up the good work guys.
SLOW
The signs read you should play each hole in more than 10 minutes. I've play this course the pass 3weeks working on my short game. It's been more like I working on my patience. 3 times on different days and its stand around and wait. I have never seen a Marshall or player assistant only groups of guys who seem to enjoy a little beverage with there game. The restroom should be closed and maybe the snack bar right after it. Greens are in good shape but there is no fairway more like an off road experience.
Great for beginners
Awesome place to learn the game or get back into it. No "diehards." Relaxed atmosphere. Will continue to go here.
Good course to get your game back in the groove.
This is a great course to sharpen up your short game. The condition of the course is average but it looks like they're trying to do some upgrading. Great value and not too crowded.
Simple, still challenging, great course for short game
Great 18-hole par 56, 3 par 4's but mainly par 3's. If you're looking to work on the short game this is the place to go. Greens are a little slow but still smooth, no bumps. Ive gone twice the last two weeks and always had a good time with friends and worked on my short iron/chipping in the process...
This course fits my game
everythinf is excellent.. I wish I'm given a freegreen fee for booking 4 people.
Nice driving range and pro shop well stocked
Coarse is great for the average player. Fairways are wide and greens are well maintained. Great for learning you iron play.
