It May Be Closed but Still Charge
I paid for a tee time for my friends and I, we drove 70 miles and the course was closed but I was still able to make a tee time. No option to cancel cause the course said it was open. Total waste of time. Call before reserving. Huff is a sht course. Save the money go somewhere else
well maintained
some quirky holes but fun to play, slow greens but well kept
Fun 9 hole course
The course is a fun layout. The golfers are great! The owner lady needs a course in public relations. No need to yell at golfers and call them names. I've played here several times, customer service lacking. Good food though.
Enjoyed the friendly staff, the course and the food in the snack bar. Would definitely return.
love this place
This is a very beautiful course...I have played it many times..and I am haveing my wedding here ..the staff is very friendly and help ful the course is set up very nice and fun...
So much better this year!
The course in under new ownership. It's looking really good !
Best golf for price, hands down.
I have played many courses, but few as scenic as this one. This 9 hole course is as affordable as it get when it comes to golfing. You can walk 9 for $12 or 18 for $20. It looks like it is an easy course, but will challenge you. I guarantee you will enjoy yourself.
Awesome scenery and challenging course.
Been playing Mt. Hough for many years. Whoever gave it a bad review must have just had a "bad day" of golfing, because Mt. Hough is a VERY NICE little "9 holer". Tucked away in the Heart of the Sierra Mountains, this course offers up an "executive" course type of feel to it, with Four Par 3 holes and Four "reachable Par 4's" for big hitters...double eagle putts are fun to have during your day. Final hole is a very challenging Par 5. Good luck playing to the Par 33 for 9 holes. The "smaller greens" make this course a good challenge for ANY golfer. I am about a 5-7 handicapper and have a hard time playing to "bogey golf" at this VERY FUN, AFFORDABLE course.
Lacking Customer Service
I've been to this golf course a few times.....the first was a decent enough experience however the next two lacked serious customer service. The woman in the pro shop speaks to those who aren't retired locals as though they are idiots. The last time I attempted to golf here they tried to make me play with someone I didn't know when I arrived on the 3rd hole tee box. I'm very new to the sport and trying to get a feel for it by playing on my own or with those I know, when I tried to explain this to her she told me I didn't have a choice. When presented with this option, I told her she could give me my money back and I would be done for the day if that is how they wanted to handle it. She replied by stating they do not refund money and walked away.
If you are new to Golf or simply looking for a pleasant experience, I suggest you spend your money elsewhere. There are much better courses near this area; Lake Almanor and in Susanville if you don't mind a bit of a drive. It's evident from others I've spoken with that this type of experience is common at the Mt. Huff course. Take the advice and DON'T GOLF HERE!
