Challenging course layout. Much of course was very dry and greens were bumpy and needed a lot of care. Too much up and down walking, so unable to play all 18 holes for medical reasons.
Nice course with challenges
I have played the course several times. The course was in fair shape at best, even being the end of summer. I had played the course two times during the summer and it was in much better condition. I know they are working hard to get it ready for the fall and winter season. I would recommend this course to my fellow golfers.
Palm Springs summer
Kind of fussy layout. Not much relief for hackers like me. The more precise I’m forced to be the, the tighter I get. Blind tee shots with bunkers in every landing area, as well as surrounding the greens. Plus summer disrepair. I hope they do better business in the other seasons.
I had a prepaid tee time for 7:44 a.m.. I got there before 8 O'clock a.m. 8 cars in the parking lot. I thought my tee time was for 8:18. The pro shop attendant gave me such a hard time for being late that I left without playing. His last words to me was that " I am doing you a favor by letting you out but please don't tell anybody I did this." In 25 years of going to the Desert I have never been as humiliated as I was today.
REALLY ENJOYABLE VALUE
What used to be, or could be, a very high end course has seen better days. But this didn't diminish my group's enjoyment of the course and the day. What the course lacks in maintenance doesn't detract from the play. We just made sure to check the wind forecast ahead of time. With few people on the course, we played in an easy three hours and fifteen minutes. The layout is great, the greens are in good shape and roll true. You can't beat this value!!
I have no complaints in regards to the course at all. When O decide to play in Mid July i do not expect the greens to be perfect What I do expect is ICE. It was 110' and they had no ice at 1030am. Not acceptable. Worker stated ice machine not working well with the heat. Management should know heat as well as I do when I play mid July. Hint to management It will be hot the next two months,,,,,Get your ice machine working.
Took advantage of some super low rates and had a great time. The course took a early morning cloud burst and had minimal damage, a couple of cart path detours but the course was very playable. The greens exceptional for mid summer conditions. Very smooth and speed was consistent. Of course the sand traps were mostly flooded but we just moved to a dry patch and played on. It was just my brother and I and finished in less that three hours. Now that's how you play the game I posted a decent 77 and my brother 89. I just love Trent Jones' design, the apple didn't fall far from the tree and this is one of Jr's best. We played it at 6330 yards, and this course will give all the young gun's all they can handle from the tips! 74.2/136 slope.
A Challenging course
It is a wonderful course with challenging opportunities for all level of play. If you enjoy seeing wildlife along and on the course, this is the place to play.
It has challenges from water and bunkers and it's natural environment. I have played here several time and have enjoyed each golfing adventures.
Try it, you will like it.
Poor condition of course
A RTJ Jr course which looks very interesting but unfortunately the condition of the course is terrible- lots of dry spots and even bare dirt around the course, traps are hard pack and the greens are spotty. Tee boxes often bare and hard.
Course has not been maintained and everything (signage, tees, greens and clubhouse) looks worn, tired and drab.
First and last time playing - spend a few dollars more playing the other Coachella Valley courses
