Great Course, Always in Great Shape
Serrano is a very good golf course with a fun layout that stays interesting. The fairways have slowly become wider and wider as the years go on to accommodate many of the older golfers. The grass is always is good shape and the greens are fair and easy to hit. Some form of water is a common theme, but it is a ditch on most holes.
The course is very tough to walk having a lot of hills. Playing of the hills, 9 and 12 are two of the hardest holes on the course due to the uphill doglegs. Of the par 5's all are relatively easy besides 16 which honestly could be a par 6 for the average Joe. The par 3's are all short and easy apart from 15 which is about 200 yards with a guard bunker and water.
The practice facilities are a little underwhelming. The practice green has many large undulations that are not seen on the course. The chipping green is so small and has so much slope it is a bad indicator of skill, with that being said there are two nice practice bunkers. Lastly the driving range has a very large drop so it is tough to figure out true distances. It is grass on a normal day, but i guess they used the mat for the guy above, which i have never seen.
Nice course could be much tougher.
Beautiful setting but lacks service
It was 106 today and there were no water jugs out on the course. A nice country club should have bottled waters in coolers or refrigerators out on the course. The snack shack was closed for our tournament of 120 players. There were about 20 pyramids of range balls for the 120 players and we hit off mats. Mats at a country club is not a good thing.
The course was in good shape from tee yo green. The greens were a little slow but I don't blame them since it's been a hot summer.
Cart guys didn't appreciate my tip when I dropped off the clubs. I wonder if this is a no tipping facility. Guy didn't thank me. Pro shop is pretty small and crammed with stuff.
