Airways Golf Course

The best couple things about the course were the pace of play and the condition of the greens. Lots of maintenance people scattered throughout the course for the entire round. Probably why the greens were in such nice shape especially for the heat. These maintenance folks need to get more done earlier in the morning in my opinion, because often times we waited on them to finish watering for put flag back in to continue play. Does look like the general condition is however improving obviously due to the very visible crews working everywhere....

Course is in good shape with very nice greens. Great value for the round of golf.

Friendly staff. Greens are great. Fairways are a little dry. I like the new signage on each hole.

This course has straight (mostly), dry fairways. I like it because I’m not a long hitter and the ball rolls a long way, even when I “top” it. The greens are nice and well groomed. No water hazards (ball magnets). As I am a pilot, I enjoy the National guard Jets constantly taking off and landing next to the course. Good course for beginners and retired types because it’s not expensive to play.

For more in depth summary of course see below. This is a quick update on conditions.

Tee boxes- good. The markers were moved back which added 5-10 yards to each hole
Fairways- better but not good yet- just ok.
Rough/off fairway- mostly hard pan dirt
Greens- good

I KEEP HEARING THAT THE FAIRWAYS ARE GOING TO GET BETTER. WHEN? THE GREENS A GREAT FOR A MUNI BUT EVERYTHING ELSE NEEDS A TON OF IMPROVEMENT. NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FOOD AND KITCHEN STAFF ALWAYS FIRST RATE.LOOK FORWARD TO THE DAY WHEN YOU CAN SEE SOME PROGRESS.

It's been improving gradually in all aspects, I started playing here a year ago, staffs are friendly, the only thing I think needs improvement is the pace of play..... others just kinda take so much time to hit their ball. Also the number of players in groups needs to be limited to a maximum of four.

My wife and I went there for her second time ever golfing and the experience was great! She was nervous that we would slow everyone down but that never happened since we all had waiting times between holes. It worked out perfectly.
My wife needed some shoes and then saw a top she couldn't live without. So, the final perfection was at the 8th hole when we were starving and noticed the clubhouse grill. We ordered and it was ready when we got there..very classy

This is the best I have seen this course. the new carts and the staff are great.

I play here a couple times a month because it's close to my house. It's easy to get on and the staff is great. I keep hearing a management company has taken over the course but the conditions have not improved.

Multiple times I hit my drive into the fairway only to find the ball resting in dirt. Had to move it to hit off grass. Again, this happens in the middle of the fairway. Same thing around the greens. Patches of weeded grass with tons of dirt spots. A ball 5 feet off the green shouldn't have to travel through clumped patches of grass and dirt.

This course has its challenges without the lack of grass. Tight fairways with large trees over hanging the sides. A ball struck well off the tee and traveling within the fairway may be knocked down by a large limb hanging over the top of fairway. Very small greens.

Hopefully the conditions improve. I enjoy the convenience and staff. But it's not the most rewarding course due to the layout and conditions.

Course is in good condition except the greens were very slow due to reciently being airiated. All in all it was a good round.

Lee works hard to always make it a great time! Highly recommended.

They need to water the fairways it was way to dry. Play was so slow it took 3 hrs for the front nine that just too long.

I continue to play at Airways. Staff is top notch. Couldn't be better. Friendly and offers good deals. The course is ok right now. I'm hoping conditions improve. There are bare dirt/weed spots in fairways. A good drive is not always rewarded.

The clientele sometimes is an issue as well. Large groups (Five) and a couple instances where a Marshall would be nice even though I understand cost. Last week the group in front of mine was smoking weed and playing music out of a boombox. My two playing partners however couldn't have been more of a pleasure to play a round with.

I'll continue to play Airways because it's my closest course and the cost is low. Hoping the overall experience improves.
