Soaked
They must water the course & greens all night long. So wet mushrooms are growing everywhere. The greens have mold and areas of rot. A third of our shots plugged . It'll be a while before I go back.
Not worth the money
This was the second time I played this course and I should have remembered how bad it was. The course is in terrible shape. Fairways are dying out and the greens were a swamp in the middle of August. It seemed that the greens had recently been punched so putting was an absolute nightmare. Staff has never been overly friendly, especially the guy in the club house. The driving range is not much of a driving range, rather a large open field of dead “grass” and dirt where you get to go ruin your clubs. All in all, not worth the $45, I’d play again if it were around $25-$35.
Greens are in terrible shape
Greens are in terrible shape. Wanted to hit some balls at the range and it was closed as they didn’t have any balls?? What? I have hit balls there many times.
Greens Are Healing
Course presents a nice challenge with dogs and trees. Just be aware that many of the greens have damage that’s healing so that could impact your experience. 07.26.2021
All Good
Chill place. Chill atmosphere, chill course layout, chill people and chill food.
Only thing hot is the weather. I usually avoid in the afternoon because of the wind.
Not bad
The greens and fairways were in good shape, I had no complaints about course conditions, other than some soggy areas. But I will take that over dry as a bone anyway. I like challenging holes, but it seems they had too many holes with big trees close to and in the line of sight of your shot off the tee box. I don't mind one or two but it seems like there were several, not due to course layout,
but failure to manicure properly. One par 4 has a giant tree directly in front of the green, which almost seems like a gimmick instead of a challenge. I am new to California so I guess $55 is the going rate for a course of this calibre, although that seems a little on the steep side. Having said all that, I was not disappointed, I will play it again, and wouldn't steer anyone away from playing it. It's just not in the "wow, awesome track" category, but definitely a C+/B-.
Round on 6/24
It’s been a few years since playing here , I really like the layout but the course was a bit dry and the green were super slow
Lacking Upkeep
Course layout is good. Challenging Course. But too many dry spots in the fairway, dead dirt areas. Also, very soggy in other areas. The greens are bad. Dead spots, inconsistent, grooved, etc.
Good Old Course Gone Bad.
This course was once a gem. It's sad to see it so neglected and mismanaged.
Terrible course for the money
This used to be one of the premier courses in northern calif. Now fairways are under watered greens are terrible and traps are like concrete. Pro shop is filthy as is the bar and resteruant. No range balls and carts are old and falling apart. Staff is almost non existent. Said i would not play here after last time but thought I would give it another chance. Will never play here again. This is a $20 course at best
Fun layout and improving conditions
I've played Dry Creek a handful of times over the last year and like the direction the course is heading.
Main observations below:
- The greens can still use a little work, but they are in better shape than a few months ago.
- The new bridge and the 18th green being reopened was a big improvement.
- Pace of play is sub 4hrs if off before 7:30am. Later tee times can get pretty backed up.
- I really wish there was a driving range, or even some warm up nets. Warm up nets would be a minor investment and provide a great amenity.
