Good Value
Nice Par 3 to play. Difficult hole on 9, but overall a great value.
Lack of regard for your life
I wanted to play, but was told that as an at-risk player, because of my age and health, I could not have my own cart UNLESS I PAID AN EXTRA $35. Golfnow should include what courses show concern for players' lives and health and certainly not penalize people for being careful, especially considering how dangerous this virus is. Over 215,000 have died and Georgia is one of the riskiest states.
Good value
Course is a good value for the money. Greens are a bit rough, and aerated not too long ago. Was fairly dry, considering all the rain we had just received. Great for your short game.
5 fairly easy holes mixed in with 4 that can be somewhat challenging. Nice mix of holes and an easy par 3 course to walk.
Great Course, Unfavorable Greens
I played this course almost every week in high school. Back then you could pay for your round at the little pro-shop outpost on the first tee, as well as get yourself a little pushcart. Glad I saw someone else’s comment about the COVID factor taking away the push carts or I might not have thought about it.
The layout, the grounds, the tees, and the fairways—however short—seemed well-maintained. Unfortunately the greens were not overly well-kept. Not horrible, but not what I remember. Fairly clean, but just a bit rough and bumpy. Overall my wife and I had a great time, although it would have been nice to know at the time of online booking that they’d be doing course maintenance during the round.
Still had fun and you can’t beat the price! Hoping to check out the practice facilities and driving range next time as well.
Maintenance day
Had a tee time for four of us. Got the clubhouse...said oh, course is closed for maintenance. Usually not a big deal, but three of us took the day off from work to play.
Totally unacceptable... but I was invited to drop 3 hours in the bar/restaurant until they were done. Unacceptable!
Great Little Par 3 Course
Course is in decent shape overall. Some greens are pretty rough, and it doesn’t help that some folks don’t repair their ball marks on The greens. But for the price, a great value, and good place to brush up on your short-mid game.
Push carts no longer available due to COVID, so either bring your own, or keep your bag light, as you’ll be toting it.
Nice layout but poorly maintained.
The layout is interesting for a par 3 with several holes that bring water into play. But the greens are so poorly maintained that the ball doesn’t roll properly on them. Hitting at the driving range is a better use of time.
Nice one you find where to start!
The Par 3 was little confusing to find. You begin at the main golf club but then have to drive back down the main road, out of the club and up the street to a different entrance. They give you a code for the gate but it didn’t work for us initially. It took quite a while and three or four times. Seems the club is monitoring and “sorry I had a customer” caused our issue. Once there, you drive up and see a small parking lot beside a shack. We assumed this was it and got out, only to find the shack was just that, a shack. Luckily there were three young gentlemen that explained you just begin at that spot. There is no attendant there and no bathrooms anywhere on the course.
Once we finally go started, it was a beautiful and challenging course.
It was ok
There was no bathrooms ...the bunkers hasn’t been raked for days they was hard
Nice Par 3 in excellent condition
Though it was a hot July day, we enjoyed this quick par 3 course. A warning is that #9 is a 170 yard shot completely over water. It was a little hard to make it with my biggest club - 8 iron.
Fun Course
Fun time. No one else was on course today. Good shape.! Greens rolled a little slow but smooth. Several holes over water. Of course, small greens. #9 is ALL carry over water 130-166 to small green. Looking forward to going back this Summer.
Thanks for the great review and kind comments! We hope to see you again soon at Chateau Elan Golf.
