Pat 3 Chateau Elan
The associates were very friendly and course was in good shape.
Great par 3 to practice your irons and short game.
Not “Chateau Elan” quality
When you check in at the main clubhouse for the two 18 hole courses, you then have to drive 3 to 4 minutes away to get to the “Executive Course”. Because I asked, I was informed that pull carts are no longer available because of theft and that unless you have one with you that you will be carrying your clubs. When you arrive at the nine hole course, there is a very small building that is obviously abandoned, dilapidated, and completely unkept. There are no staff, greeters, or employees at all, unless you count groundskeepers. It wasn’t posted at the GolfNow site but everything but the greens were being punched and left dirt/mud clods all over the course. Would have been nice to know ahead of time so that I could visit in about a month when I’m sure the course will look significantly better and my shoes wouldn’t be compacted with mud. The greens were beautiful and extremely well-kept. However, all the traps were about as poor as they could get. BTW, when you finish nine holes you have a good 200 yard walk on barely maintain paths through the woods and the edge of the road up hills to get back to your car. With a little effort and attention from Chateau Elan to their “Executive Course” building, traps, pull cart security, walking paths/sidewalk, and notification of scheduled course maintenance, this could be an excellent Par 3 gem.
Great day!!
Played the 9 hole Executive course with a friend and my father in law on the 7th. Was great, But would’ve been nice to see a water station midway in course. Other than that was good day. Will do it again but with drinks in tow…..
Might as well play in a cow pasture
The club wants to shut down this course and build more residential. They have p doubled the price and the greens are the worst I’ve ever seen. Also there are only 2 or 3 holes that you don’t need to tee off with a wedge or 9 at best. Won’t be back.
Signage
Many golfers sneek onto the course from the hotel parking lots without paying.
Unfortunately players do not repair their ball marks on the greens.
A few signs reminding golfers of their responsibilities and instructions on how to pay and check in might help.
Buckets of sand on the tee boxes would allow players to repair their divots.
Chateau Elon is beautiful!
Was a beautiful par 3 coarse would highly recommend to those capable of walking up and down hills, the greens were fast and great. Can’t wIt to play it again.
Greens are in great condition
Played today and the greens were in better condition than they were when I played last year. Nice layout, great place to work on your short game. Longest shot was 165 today.
Too much money for what you get
I've played this course at least 20 times. This was the first time in at least 6 months. It's a fun layout, good for practice. And the greens were in about the best condition I've seen in the last 10 years, but that isn't saying much. Usually these greens are pretty tore up, bumpy, hairy and not well cared for. They used to be pretty much unputtable. Most of them except 9, rolled very nicely and were pretty fast. The only issue is it seems there are some fungus spots around the edges of some and in the middle of the greens on others. $20 is too much for average conditions. The course conditions used to be a 1 or 2, they are now a 3 at best. There is almost no grass on tee #1 which is 90 yards. I'm generally not teeing up a 90 yard shot for practice so that is disappointing. And other boxes are not great either. This place is a good value for $10-12. $20 is silly even accounting for record inflation. Especially since there is nobody manning the course to get in or out or take $. And their used to be pull carts. They aren't there anymore either. So they are charging twice as much as before and giving you less.
Nice course
Everything was great except the greens had been aerated and sanded hence the lower score for course conditions.
