Had a good experience and good round. Players I played with were really nice people.
Skywest
The greens are in bad shape the course over all needs better grooming hard to find balls in the rough.
One of the best Muni Courses in the Bay
I'm from San Francisco, just a beginner but have been hitting all different sub $40 18 hole courses in the region past few months.
And I must say, for a Public Muni Course in Hayward CA of all places.. This place exceeded all my expectations. From the Tees/Fairways all the way to the Green, every hole is in at leas 7-9 out of 10 condition. It's not a difficult course, completely flat and easily walkable. Course length, Tree placement and a few water hazards are a bit challenging . Lots of Canadian geese and their natural fertilizers, but this is common along all the courses around the bay.
good course
Skywest is a challenging course.
It has a number of difficult holes.
The condition of Skywest is good but the pace of play was fair.
The greens are difficult
Greedy
Our tee time is 1230pm, we arrive t box about 1220pm, the attendant reminds us we cannot t off before 1230pm, but 1223 pm tell us can t off. Only few minutes difference, why he remind that, we think they don’t like us book from GolfNow.
Skywest
Course was generally in good condition but is showing some effects of the long dry summer (hard pack). A couple of the greens were very bumpy due to possible weed or fungus infestation. Pace of play was average. Rates were commensurate with the quality of the course. Weather was perfect, but winds do pick up later in the day.
Pace was a little slow. Course was in good shape, especially the greens. Weather was perfect...very nice day
Open, and long
Course was in great shape. Greens good. They have taken down some trees, making the course the same challenge.
As the removal allows the wind to be a factor more. Played
Blues.. long from Blues with 1 club wind factor most holes.
Only complaint were most sand traps were wet, and it hasn`t rained in a month (I didn`t go in any, but my brothers did)
It’s hard to fathom why anyone would spend their hard earned money at this course given the plethora of options in the area. This was my first and certainly last time at the course.
It pains me to even spend more time toting a review, but if I can save someone 4 hours of their lives, I guess it’s worthwhile.
Course is in really bad condition, awfully maintained and bunkers that were rock solid. One even had a standing puddle in it. I would suggest directing that irrigation towards the many dead spots. Greens were slow, but playable, meaning you could be aggressive with putts, but fairways were littered with dead leaves and weeds.
It’s a flat course, and given that it was 10am on Sunday, it was completely dead. A group 2 tees behind and a group 3 tees ahead. I was tempted to give up after 3 holes, but as it wasn’t busy, I just played a few balls and used it as practice. The back 9 is a little better, both in layout and condition.
All I can imagine is that most people had already been informed that this is only a golf course in the broadest sense of the word.
I will certainly never play this course again and I’d encourage anyone else considering this course to explore other options in the area.
Happy 75tg anniversary
Skywest rarely disappoints. Been playing there for about 10 years. Took some buddies that saw the course for the first time and they were very impressed! Keep up the good work.
Perfect weather but course is not
Went out solo on a beautiful Friday noon. I got paired with another gentleman and told to share a cart with him. The pace was great and first tee was moving. But it all ends there. The greens were inconsistent. I wish the condition of the practice green was the same for the course but its not. Fairways are bad too. Typical of a muni course. Its actually much better than 5 years ago but needs more work. Sand traps are hard and wet. 2 novice golfers on a cart were trying to cut through but we kicked them out. No rangers around to help.
Great course to play
Come out and play this well maintained course. Avoid Tuesday’s. However every day Is a great day out there
Good bang for your buck!
Great price & great staff!
No complaints here.
Pace of play was fine.
I’d come back again for the price!
Nice
Course is in good shape. Greens run true. Play slowed a little on back 9, but overall done in 3 hr 15 min. Wind picked up on back 9 made challenging last 3 holes.
Overall good experience. It is an average/good course.
Greens were in good shape but tee boxes were uneven and with long grass, They needed a lot of work. Bunkers were in poor shape too.
The course is fairly long but not too difficult. Fairways wide and in good shape. Greens have some movement.
The layout is average too. Many holes seem to be repeating. The course is nice but not remarkably beautiful or fun. Overall is a good course and a good deal for 25-30 dollars but nothing special.
Staff is not very friendly (except in the restaurant). The club restaurant is nice and the pro shop too.
Course was not very crowded which is always a positive. It is easy to walk too.
