What a find
My friends and I play golf 2-3 times a week and we play all over. I have been a member of Canongate for over nine years. This was our first time playing this course. Very nice. So nice we looped twice.. They were fertilizing the course and it had a pungent odor, but after a couple of holes and realizing how much better the course would look in a couple of weeks, it was no issue. Can't wait to come back and play it again.
Great greens
The greens were not hard and dried out. Although they were a little fast, they have the best greens I have played on so far this year.
Excellent
Highly recommend. It was a wonderful experience The staff was great and the course was in great shape. I will be back tomorrow.
Great course for a round any day of the week!
This was my first time playing Oak Mountain but it won't be the last. What a great time on a course I've never played! The course has an excellent mix of wide and narrow fairways. The slopes and water features leave a good test on some holes as well. The overall condition of the course was excellent. The greens were perfect. I really enjoyed the layout of the course. Kudos to the ground crew for an awesome job with the bunkers. Some of the nicest sand I have seen in a long time (wish I could avoid bunkers more). The staff in the pro shop was very welcoming and offered some local tips. Although I did not use them, the course had a driving range and chipping area as we as putting green. All seemed to be in great shape. Overall first impressions were great and I look forward to playing this course again soon!
happy happy joy joy
Not the first time out there but it is as good as the first time I played. went with a couple of handicapped people and the Man at the pro shop was very helpful only knock was on this hot day only saw the cart girl once on hole 2 could of used a cold drink
great course
This course was one of the best I've played. The course was in great condition, we didn't have to wait and the people were very friendly.
The course is merely nothing better than average
I played with my wife on my birthday on 3/30. We thought nice try to play a different course other than our own private club. It turned out to be unpleasant to play in that course. The club website guided a wrong direction and hence, we wasted about 30 minutes to find the club. Furthermore, the four sum players in front us were so slow each hole and they do not seem to care. We have never seen any ranger on duty. The course was supposed to be nice based on its public source, but it is merely average in every respects.
Oak mountain
This was a great course... Very spacious fairways and a lot of dog legs that I really enjoy... Moderate course but it was still wet from the rain and the greens were getting aerated so when it's dry and the greens are back in good shape... 6 star course!!! I would def. play again !!!
Diamond in the Ruff
It is a great course and worth the ride. I plan to go again as soon as the weather gets better
Very nice layout in good condition
This is a very nice golf course. A challenging layout with alot of different looks. It was in very good condition and the greens were in good shape. The only issue for me is the location.
Good course and value.
Played on a very cold day however the course was in good shape and has a nice layout. Good value for any caliber of play and would be a course I would play again.
Great relaxing atmosphere
This was the first time playing this course. I enjoyed the views and the conditions were great. The course offers a moderate challenge and requires good decision making. The fairways are wide and missing one will put you in deep rough over 6" long. You will be lucky to find your ball even if only three to four feet off many of the fairways. This is a bit discouraging and maybe a little drastic of a penalty. With rough like this the course requires a spotter on each hole to improve playing time and decrease the amount of lost balls.
Amazing!!
Gorgeous course and well worth the cost. I hear that it was recently bought out by a rich lottery winner and it looks like it!! Gorgeous greens, mostly nice fairways. Only issue, if I had to find something, is that there were not enough ball cleaners.
A bit of a drive from Atlanta, but worth it for the price
The greens were a little bumpy because of maintenance, but the course was in great shape and was a real value for the price we paid thru Golfnow. I enjoy playing there everytime I go.
Beautiful
The greens had just been punched, so it is hard to rate, however the course itself is very beautiful and challenging. It is a bit of a drive from Atlanta, but worth it.
Ruff ruff
Course is in a great neighborhood, lots of rolling hills to add to the course. Dog legs everywhere, 13 of the 18 holes. I had fun except for when I was in the rough, it was just too thick, hard to find and hard to hit out of. Other than that, I'd go back.
Money
the greens were recently aerated but the fairways were PLUSH!
a lot of fun!!
Well worth the price. Hard to lose a ball good course for moderately skilled players.
Course is in good shape overall. Greens had been aerated a few days before I played but I knew that before purchasing round. Course is as long as you want it to be but wide open. Hard to lose a ball. A scratch golfer would score real well. Recommended for beginners and 5+ handicappers.
NWG best kept secret
A must play. Can't wait to go back. The course has every obstacle that makes the game challenging but the beauty and course conditions will make you want to play it again.
