Old Brockway Golf Course
About
Old Brockway Golf Course is a scenic nine-hole course that offers spectacular mountain vistas and panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. The charming landscape is sprinkled with towering Jeffrey pines, meadows, and meandering streams. It was the first nine-hole course in the country to become certified as an Audubon cooperative sanctuary. The classic layout features tight fairways and postage stamp greens, putting a premium on accuracy and careful strategy. Bunkers and water hazards provide even more challenged. Old Brockway Golf Course has always been a local favorite and it has been host to countless celebrity golfers including Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and Joe Kennedy.

Risk and Reward
For a long ball hitter, the risk is worth the reward as long as you are on your game. A slight mistake could mean strokes, as in many cases, but especially true here with the tree-lined fairways and small target-greens. You may play it like a links course and use irons off the tee box and trust your fairway play or challenge yourself with a big drive, chip and a put for lower scores. Great scenery with views of Lake Tahoe down the stretch. Soon, the Club House will be serving breakfast and lunch. Pro Shop is open and has some great stuff.
local golfer
the greens and fairways are a little beat up to be charging the rates this time of year.
Great course
Golfnow needs to adjust their teetimes. My teetime was at 9am with a cart. I teed off at 1015 & could only walk w pull cart due to frost. No fault of the course I love Old Brockway!
Super friendly staff/owner!
Fun and fair layout, though not a lot of room to err on your tee shots if you use the driver! Some challenging small and/or elevated greens to hit. Well maintained--great place to go if you only have time or stamina for 9 holes! Staff got us set up with a blue HC flag and Dad was able to get close to all the greens and tees except for 2 par 3's which were too hilly and cart path only. Thanks for a great afternoon with the pretty single that joined us!
Beautiful scenic Tahoe location
Although the green had just been aeriated, it was still a wonderful outing and great value
A real gem!!
Play the 9 hole, but did not go around to make the 18. Played in under hour and a half and thoroughly enjoyed the course, a real gem!!
Only 9 Holes, but very pleasant course.
It was a great little course up near the lake in Lake Tahoe. That being said it was only 9 holes. Staff was super friendly. Course was in great shape and looked stunning. I walked no one in front of me played 9 holes in just over an hour and twenty mins. For the money it may be a bit over priced, but hey your in the mountains next to the lake, it is about what I expect. I would recommend this to a friend, fun little course!
Nice course on the shore of Lake Tahoe. Best 9 hole course I've played.
Par 36. Historical course. Nicely maintained. Might see some bears during your round. Friendly staff. Good value. Playing in a pine forest. Sweet!
This course was really well maintained
Wonderful golf course. Elevated tee boxes. Some of the greens are tricky. Once you pass the 2nd hole, all you will see is trees and lush fairways. Free replay if you are walking so I played 18. very reasonble price for such a nice course.
A very enjoyable experience
Very friendly greeting from the pro shop when we checked in. Would send us out when we were ready. Loved the old style course. Warm and friendly staff. Will play again when we are in Tahoe area.
Fun course. Often busy. Sometimes slow play when busy.
Fun course and a great value if you can get a cheap tee time.
We play here at least once every annual visit!
We have an annual family reunion on the West Shore, we always play at Old Brockway at least once, this past week we played the course twice. It's beautiful, the staff are great, the course is challenging!
great views,
great tahoe views. greens need help. Golf now price of $20 is fair. Regular course rates would be way over priced. Had to deal with couple instances of joggers on course.
Beautiful Setting.
This is probably the nicest 9 hole golf course around. A full size par 36 golf course. Wish I'd had the time to go around again. The greens and fairways were in excellent shape. Even with the different elevations, it was an easy course to walk. The staff was very friendly and the pace of play steady. Can't wait to play it again.
A true jewel in Tahoe. A must play.
If ever on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, take the time to play the original home of the Crosby Clambake, Old Brockway. Great course, fun and challenging layout, and super conditions. Staff is great and accomodating. Beer and food is excellent. Enjoy the experience.
Always fun to play the course across the street from the Lake
Good value. Several holes provide a test for even the low handicap golfers. Well maintained.
Course well watered and maintained.
Course had multiple sprinklers going, which came into play , but the resulting verdant conditions contrasted favorably to those of Northstar, which for some reason is all dried out. Staff friendly as always.
Nice Short Course
Nice short course - 9 holes. I last played this course some 18 years ago and improvements have been made. A lovely way to spend a few hours (but not all day) at Tahoe.
