Hole in one
Excellent course for the money! My playing partner had a hole in one on hole #11 however the pro shop clerk did know if the club provides recognition for a hole in one I think their should be a photo op and newspaper add in the local paper.
forget the facilities, check out the course condition
Best grass, fairways and greens, I have palyed on this year. Really! I have played a bunch of upper tier courses and this one beats'em condition wise.
Oaks
Course was in very good shape. Staff was friendly. All carts were washed before use. I person to each cart. Very enjoyable round of golf.
Fantastic Shape
From tee to green the course was in great shape. Fun course but by no means a long course. Plenty of scoring opportunities especially with the greens rolling as good as they were.
We will be back!!!
Hope Everyone gets back to work soon!
The course was in great shape! Weather was perfect. Staff was very friendly. Everything was perfect except for the pace of play. Too many people still out of work I guess. We started at 2:15 pm which is usually a less crowded time. By the back 9 we were waiting on every shot. We actually skipped 18 because we were so frustrated. Hopefully everyone will get back to work soon and play will be better. Of course, if people would stop trying to act like the pros in there pre-shot routine, that would help too!
Great Condition
The fairways are well cut and the greens are receptive and fast. The greens are rolling true. The staff especially at the grill are very friendly.
Well manicured course
This course is very well maintained and provides a great, relatively short, round of golf.
Great value
Decent course layout. My first go round here and it is off season, wet and windy. So it’s hard to judge what the course might normally be like. That said, I will! I only hit one bunker all day and it’s a good thing I didn’t hit any more. Zero actual sand in the trap just good old packed solid Georgia red clay. That sure makes it tough to get up and down when the club just skips off the ground. The greens were in really decent shape and had a good bit of diversity between them size and shape wise. No really difficult holes on this track, everything is scoreable with a couple good shots. 2 of the par 5’s are reachable in 2 even from the tips on a wet day with zero roll out. It was certainly a fun round and I will be back during the warm season to hopefully enjoy some really fast greens. PS. Please replace all the missing ball washers and put some water in the few that you do have put there!
A Classic still has it
Haven't played here in awhile. A very old school course, and for good reason. It was designed by THE Bobby Jones in 1933.
The course "eases you in". The first few holes are fairly easy. I actually backed up a tee from whites to blues. But it gets quite tough on the back 9 from the longer tees. The fairways get tighter. The sight lines tougher. Bigger doglegs. And more water.
These greens are as true as any I've played in Metro Atlanta. They were running quick, about 11+. The course was in very good shape despite a lot of recent rains. A few holes were cart path.
The staff was great. It was Super Bowl Sunday and I got out early so pace was fabulous, less than 3 hours. For the money hard to beat. I'll be back.
Moderate course in good condition for winter. Excellent company, great weather. Had a great round!
