Golf course is in very good condition. The greens are in fantastic condition. They roll the greens and paint the holes.
Just wish it was a bit longer/challenging.
Course in poor shape
I've played here several times and this was the first time the course was really in poor shape. Possibly from all the rain but doesn't look like it has been attended to. Otherwise I usually enjoy playing the course.
False hope
Guy at pro shop said the conditions were the best he’s seen in 12 years which is laughable. Used to play this course regularly and it’s currently in poor conditions. Not to mention lots of issues with the carts. Had to switch carts at 9 as ours wouldn’t move even though on the cart path. Second cart wasn’t much better
Fun course
Truly enjoyed playing there for the first time. Greens were fast, most 3 putts I've had in years. Some of the views are breathtaking, worth the drive from Chula Vista.
Nice tee boxes, very fast greens
Course is in good shape, it historically doesn’t drain well and can be very swampy in some areas. Most of the tee boxes were very nice, most greens were very nice, but extremely fast. Worth the money if you get a hot deal, otherwise can be pricey if you add a cart rental to normal tee time rates.
Fairways under water
It’s a real nice course, but at that time, half of the fairways were under water. You often could nur get to your ball without getting water in your shoes.
Without rain the days before, it would have been very nice.
Drying out, getting better
After the big storms the course is recovering well. The rough is up and this course has a history of not draining well, so lift clean and place is your best bet.
Great course
The course was a great mix of difficult holes and accessible ones. Would definitely recommend
The links
Always enjoy playing a round and then having a drink and meal after.
Staff is always attentive and the food is excellent.
Walking Rate Not Clear...Then didn't get to use the Cart alot.
My disappointment with this course is two-fold:
1. They list a walking rate price when almost all other courses list prices with a cart included. GolfNow should not allow this apples to oranges comparison. Had to pay an additional $24 for a riding cart.
2. And that led to the second surprise which was not disclosed in the pro shop before I rented the cart. At least FIVE of the par 4 holes were cart path only! You don't find that out until the GPS on the cart restricts you. So the cart was only useful on about half of the holes.
The final frustration was a foursome that was at least two holes behind, making several groups wait at every tee box. No marshals around...
Course is over rated. Wet in many spots Carts can't go many places without stopping Cart paths are terrible. Needs work Would not play it again.
