value
Nice greens, grass in fairways a little thin, there should be better signs directing golfers to the next hole because of the distance between greens and the next tee box on many holes, the sand traps need to have sand in them.
Huge mix up on Tee times
Booked on Golfnow for 12:32PM and about an hour later course called and asked if I could change my time to 11AM. Noted they had a tournament booked and course was nearly full and they could squeeze me in at that time. Had a lot to do in the morning and was able to arrive right before 11 and had to go directly on the course with no practice not even a couple puts. The pace of play was slow because the group I was in wanted to play from back tees and they should have been on the whites and even that would have been too long. Plus had to make a 5 some or wait til tourney cleared first tee( approx two hours or more). Not sure who screwed this up Golf now or The course but very inconvenient. Course was very decent shape a few ball marks on the greens but overall nice enough.
Fun course
Fun course, Great staff, great condition. The hole selection on the greens was a challenge for all. The pace of play was great. I would play again, in fact I am in 2 days.
Terrible up-keep of greens
pace of play very slow--had groups of 5--; greens were not well kept--needed water!
Staff friendly, but pace of play was very slow -paid for 18 holes and after waiting for 30 minutes at the turn, left course, only playing 9 holes. At individual holes, had to wait at times for 10 to 15 minutes to play.
This course is in need of some serious maintenance
First time playing this course. Had heard it was a fun course with some challenge to it. However, the biggest challenge was the very poor maintenance. For starters, the rough at the edge of the fairways is between 6 & 10 inches deep & only gets worse the further off the fairway you get. Hit several shots down the center of the fairway, but upon landing, experienced a lot of very strange bounces, usually into the very thick rough resulting in several lost balls. The greens were pretty rough & bumpy as well. They need to get the tractor out & actually do a 1st & 2nd cut of the rough. Will think twice before playing again.
You get what you pay for..
Had not played the course in 5 years. Last time from tee to green was in great shape. This course needs some work. Greens are good, but tee boxes are uneven and fairways are a combination of 3-4 grasses with weeds. It's a shame to see a good course that has been another victim of the drought. Only paid $25 with a cart, so good value for the poor conditions.
Love the Course, But Toooo Slow This Round
I love the layout of this course, but on this day, we were on a 51/2 hour pace...yuk. Also, course needs water, and greens need work. I'd recommend it to a friend because it is a fun layout, but I'd hold off playing again until late spring when maybe the fairways and greens grow in?
Whats up Lockeford
Just when we give it another chance, it is a dump again. The course conditions are so bad that Lockeford must be getting ready to shut down. Some of the greens are horrible. The fairways are so bumpy you can injure yourself if your are not careful, I know because I did. The bunkers are almost never prepared properly if at all. You would be lucky to find a sleeve of balls in the pro-shop and the icing on the cake, the grill was closed after our round, but we could still get a wiener in the bar. Shape up or sell out PLEASE Lockeford. This course is a fun playable layout when it is maintained. Not now.
Too cold and windy to enjoy
It was only 50 degrees with clouds, so too cold to have a good round, but other than the weather it was a good day of golf.
Great day for Golf!
Wonderful day for Golf at Lockeford Springs. The pace of play was good considering the condition of the course (cart path only). The wet weather in the valley has kept all courses here soggy. We were able to play all 18 in three and half hours.
The staff at the course had our cart ready to go, and we were off the 1st tee right on time.
Insider Tip: Because of the wet conditions, the rough is not mowed so stay in the fairway and 1st cut.
Rainy day
Course was very wet..just not a good day to play! Snack area was very limited in items to eat.
Tough Day
I was confused about the disk golf course intertwined throughout the course ... On busy times marshals are important but there wasn't one (that we saw) and pace of play was bad (every golfer should have there own set of clubs) ... The pin placements for the day after Christmas was more suitable for a Sunday tournament. Bad day for the course but I will play there again for sure!
Nice Course
This is a challenging long course for all levels of play. The greens are in great shape right now for being the end of December and I really like to play this course a lot all year. The staff is always friendly and a really great value.
Course Knowledge Is Useful
Been a while since I played here. It is a nice course and worth playing. Sand traps, greens and fairways were all in good condition. There were things that needed to be done but they were not that bad. The only problem I had was pace of play, was a little slow but being a single made it worse. I played a few holes on the back nine and then came back to the front, seemed like most of the people going out were a late bunch so that allowed me to do what I did. One thing, there are a few blind shots so beware. Didn't have time to eat so I didn't rate the quality of food. I have eaten here before, usually a hot dog and chips which are pretty good. I like the course and I do recommend it.
Just show up
When online and made the tee time for 9:10 as I usually do but it seems whenever I show up they never received a tee time in there's 10 to 15 people in front but they have you jump in front of but backs up as you catch up to them. Very friendly staff think it's just not up to par with online res.
My favorite course
This is my favorite course.. great condition and friendly staff.
Weather, course condition and pace of the play were excellent.
The cart seats are all worn out. Course restroom needed some cleaning.
Challenging course
This course is worth a day of golf. We enjoyed the challenge of each course and the numerous long pars. We're definitely coming back for more and love the discounts!!! Thank you for maintain the grounds and we appreciate the marshall, nice guy!
