Bunkers are hard as concrete and they really need to do something about the mosquito infestation. It is a serious health issue.
Another good day at Madera Municipal GC
Course Condition: today it was good but not great. The sprinklers were on the whole round (teed off at 10:0am). I had to hit a couple shots from the middle of the fairway from muddy grass. Teed off from one tee box through a geyser sprinkler that was on 10 feet in front of me. A little disappointed with the conditions today.
Pace of Play: Wide open holes #1-6. Caught up to a couple groups near the end of first nine. Wide open on the first two holes of back nine but then caught up to groups again. Slow Monday.
Cost: Normally very good price on GolfNow. I wanted to use a gift certificate today so the full price was higher than expected.
I have always liked playing Madera. Very nice greens.
Best course for the price in the valley. Greens are a little slow but very nice and run true. Very well kept around the fairways, sand traps are like concrete, no sand just dirt with rocks. Very easy course to play and work on your game
First time playing, not bad little track. Would recommend if u want to get out and play. Green fees very reasonable. Staff was great.
If you can get out here for under $30 it's great, unless it's been raining recently. Whoever designed this course did not plan for rain/drainage, so parts of the course end up unplayable at times. Bunkers are always lacking sand. Staff is friendly and helpful, aside from the woman in the clubhouse.
Pace of play
The pace of play was slowed when the 2some and 4some combined for a several holes in front of us. They did break it up but pace had slowed considerably and ended taking longer than necessary. I believe if they had a Marshall this probably would not have happened! Otherwise everything else was good.
Great course for the money in Central Valley
After playing at this course for over a year now, it has improved. First off the tee boxes are always in good condition. The fairways are 95% green with some yellow spots. Greenside bunkers have drainage systems so water doesn’t collect. They do have a thin layer of sand although more sand would be ideal. Greens are in excellent condition besides some golfers not fixing their divots. Friendly staff paired with good food in the club house. Pace of play is steadily moving, Sunday’s is when pace slows downs a bit. Overall great course. Will continue to play here every chance I get.
The course is in great shape. Probably the best I’ve seen them in years. Greens are in great shape and the fairways were cut perfectly. Looking forward to going back
Fun course to plan
Course is in great shape. Greens have come back really nicely. Fun place to play. Easy walk or ride.
We are senior golfers and play from the senior tees.
The course is set up perfectly for us. The staff at the course have always been great and friendly. We look forward to playing at Madera and will keep this course in our weekly rotation.
