The course is in great shape right now. Greens are nice and fairways are green. My go to course right now when wanting to play.
Madera golf course
this is a fun coarse it is not that long it is flat an the greens get you. There big, undulating and rolling true. I always belive Ron and his staff have the best greens rolling. the restaurant is getting run down the soda fountain did not work. all in all the course is in great shape and I recommend it to everyone to come out and play.
Sept 2017 update
Greens were running quick compared to most in the Valley - definitely nice to have some speed
I believe green aeration and/or maintenance is scheduled 9-18/19 and they should be in fantastic shape after the healing.
Bunkers YAY!!! --they have clearly put in work on the bunkers and all have playable surfaces that we were in or noticed.
Divots
Nice greens just wish players would repair tseir divots

Update June 2017
The greens are the best they have been in a long time. All of the work by the grounds crew has returned these greens nearly to the point they were in the past. Smooth with medium speed and very few areas of ball marks. (The ball marks are from neglectful players -- shame on them :) ) A little more time and speeding them up and they will once again be spectacular and some of the best in the area.
Bunkers - are hopefully the next project and once they are no longer hardpan/dirt will make this a four star public course.
Very Good Muni
One of the best municipal courses in the Central Valley. Base prices are a bit high but you can usually get a good deal. The course is in good but not great shape, the greens are actually very nice though.
Fun and enjoyable!
Just got back into golf and this place was fun! The greens are great and soft. It played a little slow but wasn't bad.
Three dead carts
We had three carts die through the day very upsetting. They comped us two carts for next time but severely slowed down our pace other than that the course was decent
What a nice surprise
Madera is know for farm land and wineries but hidden off hwy 99 my GPS guided me to the beautiful GC know as Madera GC. This was my first time visiting this course and in my option this has to be the crown jewel of Madera.
Great course
It was a cold windy morning but the staff was warm and friendly. My husband and I have played the course several times but not for about 20 years. The trees have grown and the fairways are in great shape as are the greens. It is longer than I remember but I hit it shorter than I did 20 years ago. Glad that we re-discovered this great course!
Great time!
Course is in the best shape in the last couple of years. Good place to improve your approach shots. I would prefer a more challenging course, but a fun play
Great place to play
I love playing this course. Very friendly staff, a good pro shop, excellent greens and a flat course that doesn't penalize for small mistakes.
California pace
On vacation from Ohio the course was a public course that allowed walking and riding. Nice layout and fun course.
Great day for golf
With all the rain we've had has made this course a lot better then in the past lakes have water in them, and the greens are very tuff to read, all in all Madera Muni is a great course, not to tuff and not to easy great for us seniors.
