Copper Canyon Golf Club - Mountain/Vista Course
About
The course at Copper Canyon Golf Club is deceptively exclusive in that although the club has prestige and a luxurious atmosphere, there are some reasonably priced tee times. The layout features an interesting mix of holes that offer panoramic views of the White Tank Mountains to the south. The large, undulating greens that are framed by generous fairways are the trademark of the course. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also sand bunkers situated throughout. This golf course offers four sets of teeboxes. Copper Canyon Golf Club has extensive practice facilities for golfers to use as well, including a full length driving range with several target greens, a large practice putting green, and a short game area with a bunker.

Greens putt true
This is a fun course. I enjoy it every time I come here. We played Lakes-Mountain. Both 9's were in great shape. The greens putt true here. BTW to all you golfers who use this phrase in your other reviews, you need to come here to find out what that phase actually means. Most of you use it wrong and the courses you are ascribing it to do not putt true. Play here and find out what it really means.
A lovely place to play
Despite a lengthy drive from Phoenix, we loved our day at Copper Canyon. Great golf course…good course conditions and super staff. We’d come back!
Slowest Round Ever
I wanted to love this course. It's pretty, challenging with first class service by the staff. But 3 hours to play the first 9 was a huge deterrent. I don't know if there were no marshals or if that's the usual pace. We waited every hole and every shot. Very disappointing.
Nice layout
Three nines surrounded by houses but not in an obtrusive way. Lots of variety for drives from various tee blocks depending on handicap. Thoroughly enjoyed our round.
A Nice Course But The Bunkers Need A Lot Of Improvement
We played the Lake and new Mountain nines. The new Mountain nine was terrific. But all of the bunkers on the course had very hard sand. It was almost impossible to properly hit a shot from the greenside bunkers.
First timers
Friend had played the course and liked it, so we have been looking for a tee time that would work. Hard to book with the blocked out times and residents preferred. Overall an OK course. We played Vista/Lakes. Fairways were in good condition. Greens were a little on the slow side for our preference. The bunkers are the BIG minus in my opinion. Not really sand, but more small pebbles or more desert like. We got paired up with a couple locals and they helped us navigate the course. Glad we did not pay the regular rack rate. Very resort style winding through the residential area. For the right price, we would probably play again, but not for listed green fees.
Copper Canyon
Enjoyed my round. Met a couple of great guys. Pace of play was perfect.
Nice course, funky greens in Mountain 9
Nice course in excellent shape. The new Mountain 9 has 3-4 greens that are an acquired taste. Pace of play was great for a Sunday afternoon and staff is very helpful and friendly.
Nice course.
Played the Lake and Vista course. Fairways, greens and Tee boxes were very well maintained. Staff was extremely friendly. Putting green was the same pace as on the course. Driving range was a little soft compared to the fairways. Overall a good experience, that being said there was nothing that really stood out that would bring me back at the winter rates.
Delayed tee time an hour with no notice
Look, I’m not an idiot… I knew when I booked the late afternoon tee time that we probably wouldn’t finish but I’m no stranger to super twilight and being the last one in. I’m not a jerk either, I understand things happen and I rarely take the time to voice my dissatisfaction. I actually really like this course and have played it a dozen times at least, but I can’t say I’ll be back… I don’t expect 5 star service, I find cheap tee times and get a round in when I can. But man I really felt like a piece of crap yesterday. Like I was lucky they even let me on the course. As we approached the cart attendant we didn’t get a welcome to the course, just an update that our 3:24 tee time had been changed to 4:10 and a run down on course rules requiring darts be in absolutely no later than 6:45. He was kidding either, he chased us down at 6:35 demanding the cart back as we tried to squeeze in one last hole. I guess that’s the risk you take booking through a third party, no refunds and no notifications. Lesson learned… our “if we hurry we might be able to finish 18 in the dark” turned in to “hopefully we can finish 9”. I guess my biggest issue is their attitude about it all. It was basically “tough luck”. This course is run by the residence, and according to the starter they can barely fit them all in. So I’m pretty sure they couldn’t care less if we come back. Which as much as I enjoy the course, we probably won’t.
Big Bang for the Buck
I’m from the Chicago area and have played many of the public courses in suburban Phoenix. This.course is a bit further out than most up in Buckeye but well
worth the drive. Tee boxes, greens and fairways are in excellent shape. There is actual ruff in addition to just dessert sand and cactus off the fairway that resembles courses in the Midwest and surrounded by beautiful Mountain View’s. The driving range and practice greens are also plush. The price is also very reasonable and good value.
