You get what you pay for
The course was confusing to follow. Lots of patchy grass and mud and the tee boxes were synthetic grass on slab of concrete.
Awful
Hacked-up tees, solidified mud 18th fairway, drunk 6-some ahead of us ( no Marshall!!), some seriously rough fairways - but good greens. Overall, a very poor quality course, suitable only for beginners. Yuk.
Disgraceful fairway and tee conditions, esp holes 1 - 9
Badly cut-up fairways (especially holes 1-9) , lots of mud in places, any the 18th has a dried mud fairway, YUK.
No Marshall, so the 6- person group in front of us, blind drunk and celebrating a birthday - could not be shifted along, or off the course.
The greens are OK. Nothing else good to say!!
Unless you are an absolute beginner, avoid this disgraceful course!!
Awesome Course!
Layout is quite amazing, greens, fairways are pristine! Worth every penny and definitely a bucket list course!
Decent course awful employee
I am a very new golfer who had some questions about different golf gloves and the large (fat) male that was behind the counter was incredibly dismissive and rude. He condescendingly would repeat the same answer even though he did not answer my questions. I ended up purchasing items online instead of at the store.
A good value
This is a great course for beginners. For $35 my wife and I played Saturday morning in 4 hours. Yes it is modest but a large bucket of balls at a top driving range costs $25 , Newport Beach golf course is worth every penny.
Round at Newport
It was a nice relaxing round. Course was not difficult to play.
Outstanding but some issues….
Can’t beat the driving range and a medium bucket for $12.00. It didn’t have a ball tray though. Secondly, practice green was in great condition. The outstanding staff was very friendly and helpful. My group of 3 I played with was very friendly. The average pace of play was good and I helped out with green conditions by repairing some divots. Nobody knows how to repair divots who play here. I’d most likely play the course again but I won’t be expecting to hit the ball well especially with planes in the background. But, the vibe is fun and was relaxing and not to mention challenging.
I’d still give this course a 4/5 for the customer service and for the course being a nice practice round course with challenging holes.
Irvine's Best Public Par 3 Course
As the title suggests, I think it's the best public par-3 course in the Erlevine area. I heard about the noise of the plane, but it was rather fun to watch. However, it is true that electric carts were a little more expensive than expected, but I am willing to pay enough to play 18 holes. I recommend it.
Always a great deal
I play this course because it’s very affordable, especially on the TeeOff app … at $17.99, it can’t be beat, Sure, there are nicer courses in OC, but my game is at the point where I still need to hit the ball straight, and put it in the hole. Paying more money for a nicer course, isn’t going to make my ball flay any straighter, or go in the hole more often … just my retirement point of view 😎
Not bad, good for beginners
I'm still learning and putting my game together. This course is great for it. It's short. That's for sure. But it's a good course for cheap. They have riding carts. I golfed on a weekday morning and there were plenty available. If you're older or disabled, this can be a tough course to walk. Fairways and greens were in good condition and green in color. You have to tee off mats, except for a couple longer holes. But it's not bad on a budget.
