Goat Hill Park
About
Located in Oceanside, Goat Hill Park originally opened in 1952 as a nine-hole course called Center City Golf Course. It was the first golf course in San Diego County and in the 1980s was designated as protected public land that cannot be developed without a public vote. The course was redesigned in the 1990s into an 18-hole short course and soon became known by locals as "Goat Hill." The course was threatened by development in 2014 but the local community fought the plans at city hall and a new management team led by local residents John Ashworth, David Emerick and Geoff Cunningham assumed management of the golf course. Using volunteer corps of tradesman and citizens along with dedicated staff, they renovated and revitalized Goat Hill to its current state. The course features one par 5 on its par-65 layout and features long views from its perch on a hill. It also has a full driving range, pro shop as well as disc golf interwoven into the layout.

Fun spot, very unique
We had a blast making our way around this hybrid course. It's longer than an executive and shorter than a championship layout. It's a good call if you are up for something different a little non-traditional.
There is a really cool vibe about the place -- fire pit outside and music playing. Very friendly staff.
Met my expectations
For being what it is it's a fun little course. Gets a lot I mean a lot of play and it shows. But for being one of the cheapest courses n area and needing some practice play it fills that spot.
Worst course ever
Really bad customer service and horrible course.
No cart without any notice when I checked in the office, staff said today is no cart. He was unfriendly customer service. I don't recommend this course
Good good
Definitely recommend this course! Solid holes and challenging
Great Customer Service
Pro shop attendants were super friendly and welcoming…and it’s the home of the “Wish Bone Brawl”!
Ride - easy; wal k- workout!
1st time here. “Doc” the starter is a hoot. Course meanders hills, hence the name. We walked with push carts. Wouldn’t recommend it. Ride or walk with your bag on your back. Course plays a little tight, many valleys to over shoot; fun public course as a warm up for a $200+ round the next day!
The GOAT
Good close to home, some tough holes. If you like scrubbing yer balls not a lot of opportunities for that
Dogs everywhere
Don’t mind the dogs but ran into a few surprises during my round. They need to enforce the dog cleanup otherwise a two stroke penalty.
Aerating every fairway... no relief compensation
Literally every inch of every fairway being aerated... giant dirt cylinders on every inch of every fairway... barely playable which is ok I understand that it’s for the good of the course but course shouldn’t be open and at the very least they should be warning players... when I asked for a voucher or even a discount for another round was told “no”... one word answer no apology no anything... one of the worst golf experiences of my life
Play somewhere else
The fairways had no grass on most holes, greens were just punched, and lots of sand left on them.
The couple we played with quit after 4 holes. It is extremely difficult because of deep gullies, sloped fairways. Balls rolled off the green on number 5 and went
across two fairways and stopped on dirt path 100 yards later..we are in our late 70,s and are in good shape so we're able to walk into gullies to hit our balls.
The yardage seemed off on some holes, and hard to know which flag to aim for,as some had 3 flags. Foot golf flags you could see from the valleys.
It was an experience I will not do again.
