Great layout
I play Soule Park every time I get the chance. It's a 90 mile drive for me but always worth it. Friendly staff good food and a beautiful layout. Spread out with some minor elevation changes, tough shots over wide barancas, very tricky, well kept greens and enough sand traps to keep you honest.
Well worth the money even at full rates but there's usually a deal somewhere to lessen the pain.
Nice course lay-out
Soule Park in Ojai used to be one of my favorite courses. It still has some water issues which make it a little too dry. More watering would certainly help on the fairways and greens as well.
Best golfnow value I've seen
I golf on a budget so I'm a fiend for the golfnow hot deals. This course honestly fees like it should be out of my price range.
$12 plus service fee... With a cart... And a very scenic track situated sitting the Ojai valley, which is entertaining even without golf involved.
I've played here on a couple of holiday weekends when it isn't too busy and had a blast; one time brought my grandma out to watch and it was enjoyable for her as well given the scenery.
Girlfriend played along with me most recently; she's a total beginner but had a blast as well as they have like 5 sets of tees.

I had the course to myself!
I played on a rainy day and had the course to myself. This was the first time I had played the course in about 20 years. I like some of the changes to the course, but not so crazy about others. As I recall, they lengthened number 5 and made it a par 5 and flip-flopped 17 and 18. They shortened number 7 and made it par 4. The old no. 7 was a beautiful par five with an majestic oak overhanging the green with a creek guarding it in front. It was a temptation for long hitters to go for it in two. A lovely, picturesque hole. But alas, it is gone. The greens were very bumpy, making putting difficult. Some of the greens (esp on the back nine) are rather small and undulating. I found 12 and 13 very hard greens to putt. But overall, it was a fun day in the rain. Since there was no one else on the course, the staff let me out well before my tee time. The range was closed (perhaps due to the rain). I would love to play the course again when the weather was better.
Soule Park Golf Course
It was perfect weather and I felt lucky to be able to play. There were a few things though that I think I should point out. First, the ball machine at the driving range was broken, but after going back to the pro shop and letting them know, someone came and fixed it right away. The driving range mats were worn out and uneven and the range balls were pretty old too. While the fairways were trim, the rough was a little too long, so it made it difficult to find my ball. One thing I appreciated was the ball washers actually had soapy water in them and the towels were clean. The golf cart's battery went dead at the 8th hole, so someone had to come out and give us a another one. At the 17th hole, that one started going dead too and the guy that i was paired up with had to actually get out and push the cart to get it to the last hole. It was my birthday that day and I found out after the fact I could have played the round for free, but it was so inexpensive anyway using Golfnow that I didn't mind.
Soule park golf course
This course is in the worst condition of any course in the county. They should be ashamed to charge people to play.
Beautiful!
This is a great course with a home-townie feel. It's one of my favorites.
Wonderful course-well maintained greens
Always enjoy this beautiful course. Very well maintained, especially greens. Course is varied, great amenties, GPS carts and beautiful views save for 17...butts up against street. Can't imagine not enjoying this course.
Greens are in great shape and have character
Beautiful day great views , awesome golf course.
Beautiful Soule Park
I made our last minute tee time through GolfNow on Thursday night and was very lucky to find a Hot Deal at a fantastic price. WE checked in with a very pleasant shop attendant, loaded our clubs and were able to get out on time. We played behind a foursome of ladies and I must say...the pace of play was perfect!
Although we had been advised otherwise, the course is in very good condition considering the water shortage we have suffered in Southern California. Overall a very very good experience. We will definitely go again.
