Horrible Carts
I was given a cart that was literally falling apart. It had mechanical as well as cosmetic issues like the seats being ripped and cracked. When the cart wouldn't move, it was explained to me that I needed to reach down and manually move the brake petal toward the seat every time I wanted to accelerate. I wasn't offered a new cart. I was just told I had to deal with their "aging" fleet of carts. It is unacceptable for any course to let their customers use carts in this condition. It was annoying and borderline unsafe. This course is always packed and they clearly have the resources to purchase new carts.
The Vineyards
Three some in front of us were late, so starter sent out single. We teed off 5 minutes late, but had no wait until hole #10. (played front 9 in less than 2 hrs)
Course conditions were good. Weather was warm & humid with lots of knats flying around.
Snackbar attendant was helpful.
Overall a good day.
The Vineyard
Nice place..first time playing there front 9 was a little easy. But does get alittle challenging after the front 9. Will be coming back to try it again.
Good for Price
Very good greens, ok fairways, poor bunkers, friendly staff, no Bev cart Monday thruThursday
Broken Golf Cart
They gave us a cart from 15-20 yr old golf cart that has a chassis broken. We have to struggle turning the steering on this bumpy, clunky sounding ride.
Expect to wait every tee box
The course is well kept for the price of a 3:30 time , greens roll nice, plush enough fairways. Yet after you are done with hole 3 expect to wait 15-20 per hole at the tee box. I think they book groups too closely together, it took 5 hours to finish. This wasn’t my first time this has happened. My only complaint with the course.
Fair value golf course
We had a great time playing. Course was in good condition. Pace of play was smooth. Greens and fairways were good as well.
Cons: No ball washers, No yardage markers, No GPS on carts.
Probably why the value was fair.
Great shape
Range, staff, course all great.
They stop serving food early was my only issue.
The Vineyard at Escondido
The course is in excellent condition for this time of the year, especially as "HOT" as it has been inland lately.
Pace of play was good (ready golf), tee boxes, fairways & greens well manicured.
Staff in pro shop nice, helpful and professional.
I highly recommend this course and I will be back soon!
The return
This was probably not the weather to play this course again. Hot and steamy on this course breeds gnats that find every open orifice and fly in. Hard to concentrate on your next shot when a bug just flew up your nose or bounced off your eyeball. Love the course, don't get me wrong, but certain times of the year the bugs rule and that makes this course miserable to play.
Not very accommodating staff
I booked on golf now but booked the wrong date - my bad. The pro shop would not allow me to change my T time. They got paid, I didn’t golf. Not a very accommodating staff.
Golfnow Ratings Can Be Misleading
If you look you will see this course is currently rated at 82.6%, putting it on par with La Quinta Mountain Course, a perennial top 100 courses you can play in the US. This course should be somewhere in the 70% range. Greens are slow and inconsistent and very bumpy. Understandable because this course gets so much play. Some great holes and views on the back 9. Fairly challenging course. Course is extremely popular just dont expect too much. The stretch between 4 5 and 9 which all play adjacent to each other is a nightmare for a course like this. Players in all different fairways, which can get a little dangerous. Average course but the price is right.
The Vinyard Escondido
Course continues to neglect bunkers...fairways have seen better days, they are resodding some and will need to do some more given heavy watering and damage from carts/equipment. Ok deal for prices on Golfnow....
