Lovely course but painfully slow
This is a lovely course in great shape. The starter was very friendly & talked us through every hole with sound advice. He advised blue tees for 10 handicap & under. We watched the fourball in front tee off, playing from the blue tees. Only one of them was a good golfer. Throughout the round one of them barely passed the red tee box with his drive. We explained this to the course Ambassador twice who admitted they were really slow, but did nothing about it! The round took over 5 hours. We befriended the group behind us as we were frequently on the same tee box waiting to tee off. Indeed we played the 17th (par 3) & 18th as a 5 ball & still nearly caught them up. I do appreciate that slow play is an issue everywhere but the management need to do something when they can. We have played 6 courses this holiday in the San Diego area & this was the worst by far for pace of play.
Vinyard golf
Decent course...except bunkers. A little ongoing/daily maintenance of such would help.
Pretty Course but not at its best
Greens were being plugged and sanded. This was not listed on Golf Now or on main website (only if you tried booking on their site). The course is very pretty and challenging, while not being overly long. Big pet peeve (and one that slowed play) - NO YARDAGE MARKERS ANYWHERE!!!! You'd expect cart yardage displays at a nice course like this - Nope. Markers on sprinklers or boxes - Nope. 100, 150, 200 markers - if there were any, not apparent. You just expect more from a nice course.
Would recommend other courses before this (maybe different if greens had been in better shape)
The Vineyards
Booked via GolfNow app.
Online rate was $48. Did not mention that greens had been punched & sanded.
However, upon arrival, pro shop staff gave us all a reduced rate ($36) They were very friendly and it was a good jester due to the conditions of the greens.
Pace of play was ok... 18 holes in 4 hours.
Also included a 15% discount in restaurant after our round
What a deal !!! We got the hotdog, chips & beer special.
Good course
Good course. Difficult front nine, a lot of water to deal with. But as I warmed up, I enjoyed the challenge. The back nine was challenging as well but a little easier.
Very nice coarse!
Greens are hard to read but the course is excellent! Nice driving range too!
avg. track
The greens were excellent. Fairways and boxes were spotty, will think twice before going again.
The Vinyard Escondido
Under 4hr round...course in good shape, other than a few bunkers.
Worth it
It’s about a 30 ish minute drive from me so I don’t make it out that often, but when I do it usually does not disappoint. This was my first time out in moooonths and my first time back in about a year or so. Everyone was friendly, tried getting out an hour early but there was no space and I could see why. The greens were in awesome shape, rolling nicely. Everything else seemed to be okay except the bunkers. I was able to snap a deal time so I was really happy about the cost with a cart. I was thinking it would be a 4.5-5hr round but we ended up finishing at exactly 3hrs and 45 minutes. I usually play solo, and seem to run into other solo players of all ages and experience. Always a pleasant time at the vineyard.
