Hirono Golf Club is widely recognized as the “Pine Valley of Japan” for the way it makes use of ravines, ponds, trees and rolling, sandy terrain. It is the most enduring, mature work of Englishman Charles H. Alison from his visit to Japan in 1930-31. An extensive restoration by Martin Ebert has now brought back to life the width of the playing surfaces and the ferocity of Alison’s notorious bunkering.
